Rep Stage, the regional theatre in residence at Howard Community College (HCC), continues its 21st season with "I Am My Own Wife" by Doug Wright. Winner of the 2004 Pulitzer Prize and the 2004 Tony Award, "I Am My Own Wife" was inspired by interviews conducted over several years by the playwright with Charlotte von Mahlsdorf, a German transvestite who survived both the Nazi and repressive East German Communist regimes. Michael Stebbins stars as Charlotte and more than 40 other characters that represent the men and women in Charlotte's life in Germany from the 1930s through 1990, when the Berlin Wall fell. "I Am My Own Wife" has been hailed by The New York Times as '. . . both moving and intellectually absorbing' and praised by The Associated Press as ". . . more than a historical document . . . the play is a vivid portrait of a unique person whose ability to endure has been turned into a highly theatrical journey.' The Judas Redux team (led by Executive Producers Julia Albain and Corey Lubowich of Team StarKid fame) presents a new production of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Stephen Adly Guirgis, and directed by Julia Albain. The Last Days of Judas Iscariot will be presented at Stage 773, 1225 West Belmont in Chicago, for 18 performances, today, August 23 - September 8, 2013. The Press Opening is scheduled for Sunday, August 25 at 6:00 p.m.

Directed by Daniel Sullivan, THE COMEDY OF ERRORS will feature Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Hamish Linklater as Dromio and Antipholus respectively and will run through Sunday, June 30. According to a notice from the Public Theater, no performance will be canceled before 8:30pm, even if it's raining. A performance might be delayed, but will perform if and when possible and safe for the actors.

This summer, all performances for THE COMEDY OF ERRORS and LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, A NEW MUSICAL will begin at 8:30 p.m. with running times of approximately 90 minutes, no intermission.

The Milligan Cup, for Musical Theatre Performance, was held in the Theatre on the evening of 21st May. There were twelve finalists, representing all Radley yeargroups.

On Monday night, Jim Caruso's Cast Party was a hotbed of activity, and not just because of the summer temperature! The jam-packed house was thrilled to celebrate the cast of Closer Than Ever, the Matlby-Shire musical review starring Jenn Colella, Christiane Noll, Sal Viviano and George Dvorskey, accompanied by Andrew Gerle. A few lucky (and knowledgeable) audience members even won tickets to the show.
