WP Theater Announces The Pipeline Festival Complete Lineup

Women's Project Theater, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Lisa McNulty and Managing Director Maureen Moynihan, is thrilled to announce the complete lineup for the inaugural Pipeline Festival, showcasing the work of the celebrated WP Lab residency for playwrights, directors and producers from March 24 - April 23 at the McGinn/ Cazale Theater at Broadway & 76th Street.

MediaRites Theatre Diaspora to Present Julia Cho's THE LANGUAGE ARCHIVE This Spring

MediaRites, a nonprofit organization that provides innovative, award-winning radio, theatre and documentary programs, today announced that it will produce The Language Archive, written by award-winning playwright and television writer, Julia Cho. MediaRites' Theatre Diaspora produces staged readings focusing on Asian American identity and cultural issues, providing visibility and engaging audiences in insightful talkback discussions on cultural diversity.

BWW Review: CRIERS FOR HIRE Deliver Much Laughter & Tears

The East West Players' latest, the world premiere of Giovanni Ortega's CRIERS FOR HIRE, most entertainingly introduces a wonderful injection of Filipino culture in early 1990's Los Angeles via a fusion of laugh-inducing situations and tear-duct-emptying relationships. Jon Lawrence Rivera quite ably directs his talented ensemble in Ortega's depiction of a group of professional funeral criers.

WASHER/DRYER, a new comedy by Nandita Shenoy about a recently eloped young couple- Michael and Sonya- who discover they haven't been entirely truthful with each other as they settle into Sonya's Manhattan studio apartment with its own stackable washer/dryer as a key perk. Directed by Benjamin Kamine, WASHER/DRYER comes to NY following its world-premiere at East West Players in Los Angeles last winter, and a subsequent production in Chicago this fall.

The Theatre @ Boston Court's COLONY COLLAPSE to Open 2/20

The Theatre @ Boston Court presents Colony Collapse, by Stefanie Zadravec, directed by Jessica Kubzansky. This world premiere production opens Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 8pm on the Main Stage at Boston Court Performing Arts Center, 70 North Mentor Avenue in Pasadena.

'I AM NOT AN ALLEGORY' to Play UNDER St. Marks, 3/10-/26

FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade will present a Cuppie 43 Productions (KL Thomas, Producer) presentation of Libby Emmons' I Am Not An Allegory (these are people I know), directed by Ali Ayala. The show will run March 10-26 at UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place between 1st Avenue and Avenue A) with performances Thursday through Sunday at 8pm. Tickets ($20) may be purchased in advance at www.horseTRADE.info. The show runs approximately 70 minutes, with no intermission.

Pan Asian Repertory Theatre Premieres A DREAM OF RED PAVILIONS Tonight

Pan Asian Repertory Theatre, celebrating its 39th Season, presents the New York world premiere of A DREAM OF RED PAVILIONS, China's greatest and most beloved novel, running now through February 14, 2016 at the Clubman Theatre (Theatre Row). The production opens tonight, January 28, 2016.

Teatro Vista to Premiere WHERE DID WE SIT ON THE BUS?

Teatro Vista, in association with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and Victory Gardens Theater, presents the world premiere of Where Did We Sit on the Bus?, created and performed by Brian Quijada and directed by Victory Gardens' Artistic Director, Chay Yew. The production will take place at the Storefront Theater, 66 E. Randolph St. Chicago. Opening/Press night is Thursday, March 17 at 7:30 pm.  Regular performances are from Friday, March 18 through Sunday, April 10. Thursdays - Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Preview performances run from Thursday, March 10 through Wednesday, March 16. All tickets are $15. Circle X Theatre Co. to Stage World Premiere of DEATH PLAY by Lisa Dring

Bristol Riverside Theatre to Present THE LANGUAGE ARCHIVE

The gulf between what's said and what isn't is at the heart of the sweet and whimsical comedy The Language Archive by Julia Cho, next up at Bristol Riverside Theatre on January 26-February 14.  Directed by Adam Immerwahr, the ensemble cast features Keith Baker, Irungu Mutu, Jo Twiss, Tiffany Villarin, and Julianna Zinkel.

Film and television star, pop culture icon and social media powerhouse George Takei (Star Trek, 'Heroes') has been blazing trails as an activist over the last decade, championing gay rights and marriage equality in the U.S., and in recent years sharing his childhood experiences of being imprisoned in a Japanese-American internment camp during World War II.

WASHER/DRYER to Open Off-Broadway in January

WASHER/DRYER, a new comedy by Nandita Shenoy about a recently eloped young couple- Michael and Sonya- who discover they haven't been entirely truthful with each other as they settle into Sonya's Manhattan studio apartment with its own stackable washer/dryer as a key perk - is being given its NY premiere by the award-winning Asian-American Off-Broadway company MA-YI THEATER COMPANY at the Beckett Theater at Theater Row (410 W. 42 St.) in NYC (www.theatrerow.org). Previews begin January 26 prior to its official opening night on February 2.

The critically-acclaimed production will have a limited run the first two weeks of December, starting tonight, December 3 through Sunday, December 13.
