Two Brother Duos Set for Arena Stage's MAURICE HINES IS TAPPIN' THRU LIFE; Full Cast Announced!

Lifelong performer and Tony Award nominee Maurice Hines (Broadway's Sophisticated Ladies and Eubie!) captivates audiences with stories, songs and smooth choreography for his return to Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater with Maurice Hines is Tappin' Thru Life. Under the direction of Tony Award nominee Jeff Calhoun (Broadway's Newsies and Grey Gardens), Hines, who started performing at five years old, brings the history of American tap to life and pays tribute to his brother Gregory and the singers who inspired him, from Frank Sinatra to Lena Horne. A co-production with Alliance Theatre at the Woodruff and Cleveland Play House, Maurice Hines is Tappin' Thru Life runs November 15-December 29, 2013 in the Kreeger Theater.

Earth, Wind & Fire Performs at Fox Theatre for First Time Tonight

Earth, Wind & Fire, the groundbreaking funk-rock-soul-jazz ensemble who has been laying down their signature grooves for more than 40 years, will be bringing their classic hits and the sounds of their new studio album, Now, Then & Forever, to The Fox Theatre tonight, October 2 at 8 PM.

Earth, Wind & Fire Releases New Album Today

'Now, Then & Forever,' the group's first album in eight years, was released today, September 10th. Bailey said that co-founder Larry Dunn and other great producers helped produce the album's sound.

Jill Eikenberry to Lead in Jack Canfora's JERICHO at 59E59 Theaters, Begin 10/4

59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer) welcomes the return of The Directors Company with the New York premiere of JERICHO, written by Jack Canfora and directed by Evan Bergman. JERICHO begins performances on Friday, October 4 for a limited engagement through Sunday, November 3. Press opening is Thursday, October 10 at 7:15 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:15 PM; Friday at 8:15 PM; Saturday at 2:15 PM & 8:15 PM; and Sunday at 3:15 PM. Please note, there are no performances on Thursday, October 17 and Friday, October 18. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Music in The Moonlight Jazz Series with Don Braden Set for 4/21 at Luna Stage

Luna Stage continues its Jazz Series with "R&B Goes Jazz", featuring critically acclaimed saxophonist and flutist Don Braden. Braden, performing with drummer Cecil Brooks III and others, will play his contemporary standards repertoire, featuring Jazz arrangements of songs by Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind and Fire, Roberta Flack and others. He will also perform some of his original compositions. 'R&B Goes Jazz' will be presented on Sunday, April 21st at 7:30pm. Music Director Tim Fowlar Conducts Live Band at TheatreZone Gala Fundraiser

When Broadway and television star Eddie Mekka (Carmine "the big Ragu" Ragusa from Laverne & Shirley TV series) entertains at TheatreZone's gala fundraiser later this month, he'll be backed by a live six-piece band, led by legendary musical director and saxophone player Tim Fowlar. They will be joined by TheatreZone artistic director Mark Danni playing drums, Joe Choomack on bass, Tom Weaver on guitar, Mike Santiago on trumpet and Peter Van Wyk on trombone.

ASPiRE Premieres 'Groundbreaking Movies,' Lawrence Fishburne Hosts, 10/4

ASPiRE, the television network from Magic Johnson Enterprises, today announced its fall line-up of hosted weekly prime time program blocks featuring the best African-American films, music and comedy. Two new weekly features, 'Groundbreaking Movies,' hosted by Oscar nominee and acclaimed actor Laurence Fishburne, and 'Groundbreaking Music,' hosted by Grammy-winning jazz artist Esperanza Spalding, will premiere during the week of October 1. The network also announced new episodes of its 'Groundbreaking Comedy' block, hosted by comedian Jonathan Slocumb.

First Howard Gilman Fellow David Parsons of Parsons Dance Receives MFA from Jacksonville University

This summer, David Parsons was awarded a Master of Fine Arts from Jacksonville University. Mr. Parsons was the first recipient of the Howard Gilman Fellowship to attend the MFA program at the university. This full tuition fellowship is given to one MFA candidate each year. One of the missions of the Howard Gilman Foundation at White Oak is to nurture the artist in development. The MFA at JU nurtures the development of rigorous and refined relationships between three aspects of creative production: stimulus, practice, and analysis.

Roger Wright and Paul Hazel to Lead West End's YOU CAN DO IT

Roger Wright, Andrew Lloyd Webber's third place finalist in the ITV1 search for Jesus for his new arena tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, and Paul Hazel are to star together in the West End premiere of You Can Do It.
