Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Plays The Boulder Theater 7/9

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band formed in Southern California during the spring of 1966 as a scruffy, young jug-band. Forty-two years later, the quartet (Jeff Hanna, Jimmie Fadden, Bob Carpenter and John McEuen) is still going strong.

Steve Martin Presents 'An Evening of Bluegrass and Banjo' at the State Theatre, 6/13

Steve Martin, the multi-talented Grammy and Emmy Award-winning actor and comedian who has recently reached new pinnacles as a musician, will perform 'An Evening of Bluegrass and Banjo' with the Steep Canyon Rangers at Hennepin Theatre Trust's State Theatre, Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 7 p.m. His first bluegrass album, 'The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Bango,' was released in May 2009 by Rounder Records, where it stayed at No. 1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Album chart for 12 weeks. 'The Crow' was also awarded the Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album (Vocal or Instrumental) in January 2010.

Napa Valley Opera House Announces Upcoming Events, 11/4 - 11/7

The Napa Valley Opera House has announced its upcoming featured events in November. On Wednesday, November 4, the Opera House will feature high-wire walker Philippe Petit in discussion, followed by a screening of his Academy Award-winning documentary Man on Wire. Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers will play the venue on Thursday, November 5, while on Saturday, November 7 they will present the Southern string band Carolina Chocolate Drops.
