This year we'll be celebrating the talents of YMT members that have been critically acclaimed in many superb productions. We'll be hailing the success of Korczak, Terry Pratchett's Mort The Musical, Out There, Tales From The World's End, Jabberwocky and Love & Madness as well as all of of our Summer Skills courses, all of which achieved Grade 6 with Distinction, the highest grade possible from Trinity Guildhall.

The Opera Company of Middlebury, now in its 8th season, has become a popular stop for talented young opera singers seeking superb productions and a lovely area in which to spend some time.

London theatre bucked the trend of economic gloom with excellent box office performance in 2010, the Society of London Theatre (SOLT) announced today. Strong ticket sales led to record revenues and near-record attendances for the capital's plays, musicals, opera and dance.

Think about it: What if you were watching The King and I and when Anna and the King of Siam started to sing 'Shall We Dance' and they just stood there, it just wouldn't have much of an impact, would it? Or if all those budding chorus members in A Chorus Line just stood around and talked about dancing but never did even the most basic shuffle-ball-change...sounds pretty bleak, doesn't it? That's where choreographers come into the picture; they collaborate with the director, the music director and the cast members to create movement that elevates every musical comedy. Without them, the action remains stagebound and static. A choreographer allows your heart to soar along with the performers onstage, making musical comedy all the more compelling and transformative. These talented men and women created remarkable and memorable work in 2010 as First Night's Top Choreographers...

Federico Garcia Lorca's classic play The House of Bernarda Alba, about a household of women repressed by a domineering mother, and William Finn's modern classic musical Falsettoland, about a gay/straight/divorced/married extended family of New Yorkers preparing for a son's bar mitzvah, will be presented by the Obie Award-winning National Asian American Theatre Company (NAATCO) in June 2007 in NYC.
