Dance Council of North Texas (DCNT) is excited to announce the companies and artists selected to perform at the inaugural Dallas DanceFest (DDF) which runs August 29-31, 2014 at the Dallas City Performance Hall.

This week, two-time Tony and Emmy Award winner Bebe Neuwirth will play her final eight performances as Matron 'Mama' Morton in Broadway's record-breaking smash-hit musical Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.) Neuwirth, who won a 1997 Tony Award for her acclaimed portrayal of jazz-age killer Velma Kelly and returned ten years later as merry murderess Roxie Hart, concludes her history-making eight-week engagement as Matron 'Mama' Morton -- her third starring role in the production's 18-year run -- on Sunday, March 9. Beginning Monday, March 10, one of the Chicago family's most celebrated performers, stage and screen veteran Roz Ryan, returns to the role of Matron 'Mama' Morton.

On Thursday night, the cast of Chicago, including Bianca Marroquin, Amra-Faye Wright, Ryan Silverman, Christopher Fitzgerald, and Roz Ryan celebrated the show's 17th year on Broadway with a special cake-cutting. Yesterday, December 20, Broadway's globally acclaimed revival of the Tony Award-winning musical CHICAGO celebrated another momentous milestone and record-breaking when it played performance #6,681. With that 8 p.m. performance at the historic Ambassador Theatre, CHICAGO surpassed the original Broadway production of Les Miserables to become the third longest-running show in Broadway history.
