IMAGINING O, TATTOOED IN SNOW, APROPOS, ROCCO and More Set for Peak Performances' 2014-15 Season

Despite the welcoming size of its stage and its top technical offerings, nothing about the Alexander Kasser Theater at Montclair State University has been considered sacred since its opening ten years ago. Peak artists have moved inside, outside and about the theater with the greatest of ease, with only a single directive issued by Peak's Artistic Director Jedediah Wheeler: Challenge the minds and imaginations of audiences in unexpected ways.

League of American Orchestras Hosts 2014 National Conference in Seattle - Highlights!

The League of American Orchestras' National Conference, hosted by the Seattle Symphony, began with a riveting keynote address by flutist Claire Chase on re-imagining the orchestra, and concluded with a media frenzy and a viral video: Ludovic Morlot and the Seattle Symphony's Sonic Evolution concert featuring world premieres by Luis Tinocco, Du Yun, and Gabriel Prokofiev, and spotlighting Sir Mix-A-Lot's now-famous orchestral rendition of "Baby Got Back."

The League of American Orchestras' National Conference will offer fresh perspectives from thought leaders on the many ways orchestras are adapting during this era of rapid change. Hosted by the Seattle Symphony, the Conference takes place today, June 4-6, 2014 in Seattle, with pre-Conference seminars on June 2-4 as well as musical performances, events, and sessions presented by industry experts and beyond. Nearly 1,000 professionals and volunteers from across the orchestra field are expected to attend.

Signature Theatre has announced a student rush policy for the world premiere of David Henry Hwang's new play Kung Fu, directed by Leigh Silverman, with choreography by Sonya Tayeh. The production runs through Sunday, April 6 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Signature Theatre has announced a third one-week extension for the world premiere of David Henry Hwang's new play KUNG FU, directed by Leigh Silverman, with choreography by Sonya Tayeh. Rapid Ear Movement Opens Symphony Space's THE MUSIC OF NOW Today

Today, February 1 (2 - 11 pm), Symphony Space will present The Music of Now Marathon: Rapid Ear Movement (REM), centering on the rich theme of sleep and dreams. Now in its fifth year, The Music of Now Marathon brings together a characteristically diverse group of artists, headlined by Meredith Monk & Vocal Ensemble. The Music of Now Marathon kicks off Symphony Space's two-month The Music of Now Series, which continues with seven additional concerts through March 27.

Signature Theatre Extends David Henry Hwang's KUNG FU Through 3/30

Signature Theatre has announced that the World Premiere of David Henry Hwang's new play KUNG FU, directed by Leigh Silverman with choreography by Sonya Tayeh, will get a two week extension and now play through Sunday, March 30. The production begins performances on February 4 and officially opens on February 24, 2014 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Limited $25 subsidized tickets remain for the production's initial run through March 16. Tickets during the extension weeks are $75 each.
