DRUNK: Letting It Go

I'm currently sat in the auditorium at the beautiful Bridewell theatre watching all the different departments darting around preparing for the imminent technical rehearsal to take place. I am sat in the back corner and I can see everyone. Perhaps the most exciting thing to me is that I am sat in the perfect place to see the excited faces of the dancers as they arrive one at a time and take in the performance space for the first time. It's theirs and they know it.

In my opinion, musical theatre is at its core the art of collaboration. The bringing together of ideas that come into existence so fluidly that no one remembers where they came from but all would agree that the heart of their own contribution to the show totally hinges on the very concept.

And so here we are hurtling towards the end of week one of rehearsals for our premier production, DRUNK. Its amazing to believe that, what started off with a few over-excited interactions between a small group of 'can do' work-aholics has snowballed into some of the most terrifying and inspiring moments of my career… and we are only just starting.
