DreamWorks Theatricals & Neal Street Productions have announced that a new block of tickets are now available for SHREK THE MUSICAL. The award-winning hit new Broadway musical is now on sale through May 30, 2010. Beginning November 10th, Ben Crawford will perform the title role of ?Shrek'. Crawford replaces Tony Award® nominee Brian d'Arcy James, who departs after the performance on Sunday, November 8th to appear in Manhattan Theatre Club's production of Time Stands Still.
The cast and crew of SHREK THE MUSICAL, the Tony Award-winning production, celebrated the show's one year anniversary on Broadway with a reception on stage at the Broadway Theatre on Sunday, November 8th after the matinee performance. Cupcakes were provided to the cast by CRUMBS Bake Shop. The production also said goodbye to original 'SHREK' star Brian d'Arcy James who played his final performance in the title role yesterday as well.

In the Chicago Tribune yesterday, theater critic Chris Jones reports that Shrek originals Brian D'Arcy James (Shek), Sutton Foster (Princess Fiona) and Christopher Sieber (Lord Farquaad) are scheduled to attend a preview event later this month surrounding the announcement of the Shrek National Tour, reported to be kicking off at Chicago's Ford Center for the Performing Arts in June 2010.
Due to popular demand, the hit song "I'm a Believer" has been added to the smash Broadway musical, SHREK THE MUSICAL®. Cherry Lane Music Publishing Company, Inc. who represents Broadway writers including Maury Yeston, Leslie Bricusse and Jason Howland, has announced a multi-year, worldwide administration agreement for the score from Shrek The Musical, the first theatrical production from DreamWorks Theatricals. Based on William Steig's classic book and the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical tells the story of a swamp-dwelling ogre who goes on a life-changing adventure. Cherry Lane has been music administrator for DreamWorks Animation since 1997.
