Lisa Kron (Lyrics) and Jeanine Tesori (Score) have won the 2015 Tony Award for Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) written for the theatre for FUN HOME.

Lisa Kron has won the 2015 Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical for FUUN HOME. 

Composer Stephen Schwartz, best known for his hit musicals PIPPIN and WICKED, will be the recipient of the Isabelle Stevenson Award at Sunday night's Tonys.

IRT and Ricochet Collective recently announced the addition of Jody Flader (The Slug Bearers... at The Vineyard), to the cast of the World Premiere of GORDY CRASHES, by Sam Byron. Directed by Sherri Eden Barber, previews begin tonight, June 5 at IRT Theater with opening night slated for Friday, June 12

La Strada Ensemble Theater presents Rainbow Festival 2015: A Celebration of LGBT Theater, six programs of one act plays, readings and a workshop production of a new musical by various playwrights from across the United States beginning today, June 4, and continuing through June 14 at Pub & Vine (formerly Bank on Mattison), 649 Mattison Avenue in Asbury Park. 

Forward Flux Productions will present the North West Regional premiere reading of Clarence Coo's award winning play 'Beautiful Province' at the IX Flux Salon gathering in Seattle.

The Lilly Awards Foundation, celebrating and honoring women of distinction in American theater, held their 6th Annual Lilly Awards Ceremony last night, June 1, 2015 at Playwrights Horizons (416 West 42nd Street) that was hosted by twice nominated 2015 Tony Award nominee Lisa Kron (Fun Home).

Due to unforeseeable circumstances La Strada will be moving the Rainbow Festival to the following locations: Program Red, Orange (One Act Evenings) & Blue (Rippled Reflection) will be at Jersey Shore Art Center, 66 South Main Street in Ocean Grove (a few blocks from Asbury Park and the Parade).  There are no changes in times.

Arden Theatre Company hosts its Master Storyteller Award ceremony and concert tonight, June 1, 2015. The award will be bestowed upon Composer and Lyricist Stephen Sondheim, who will accept the award at a ticketed ceremony and concert, which is a fundraising benefit for the Arden's extensive educational and outreach programs. Composer and Lyricist Jason Robert Brown will present Mr. Sondheim with the award.

In the tradition of Facing Our Truth: Short Plays on Trayvon, Race and Privilege and HANDS UP: 6 Playwrights, 6 Testaments, The New Black Fest (guest curator playwright Dominique Morisseau) will commission five black women playwrights to write short plays entitled UN-TAMED: HAIR BODY ATTITUDE - Short Plays by Black Women. The playwrights include Cori Thomas, Nikkole Salter, Chisa Hutchinson, Lenelle Moise and Jocelyn Bioh.

Anita Khanzadian directs the world premiere of All American Girl for InterACT Theatre Company, opening July 3 at the Lounge Theatre in Hollywood.
