Chester Theatre Company will explore mother-daughter relationships in the 3rd play of its 26th Season, MEMORY HOUSE, by Kathleen Tolan. CTC veteran Debra Jo Rupp returns to CTC in this moving story about the complex issues raised by international child adoption. Performances will run from July 29-August 9.

Playwright A. R. Gurney will be guest speaker at Westport Country Playhouse's Sunday Symposium following the Sunday, July 26, 3 p.m. matinee performance of his world premiere comedy "Love & Money."  He will be joined by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director, and director of the new Gurney play, co-produced with New York's Signature Theatre. The Playhouse Sunday Symposium program is free and open to the public.

Polarity Ensemble Theatre presents its annual DIONYSOS CUP FESTIVAL OF NEW PLAYS tonight, July 9, through July 19 featuring workshop readings of four new full-length plays by Chicago-area playwrights as a part of a six-month long development process.

The human condition of gays in contemporary Russia mirrors life in a phantasmagoric insane asylum. That's the view of a new play, 'That Queer Blind Silence' (www.thatqueerblindsilence.com) by emigre playwright Sophia Romma. Her political farce, written in English but in the style of Russian Expressionism, depicts the ordeals of a fictional figure skater whose character was inspired partly by the life and career of bronze medalist Johnny Weir. Underground International Voices of Theatre, in association with The O'Neill Film and Theatrical Foundation, will present the play's world premiere run August 5 to 23 at 13th Street Repertory Company, 50 West 13th Street, NYC, directed by John Beshaw-Farrell. Ten percent of ticket sales will be donated to Underground International Voices of Theatre to support that organization's efforts for equal rights of the LGBTQ community in the Russian Federation.

Wixon. Divorced, forty-five, and facing an uncertain future, Eve attends her first SWASS (Single Women Actively Seeking Sex) meeting. After all, how hard can it be for a divorced woman to get laid by a guy that's not a schmuck? It turns out not so easy. Will our hero get lucky? Or will she have to save herself for Steve Martin? Directed by Miriam Bazensky.
