San Diego REPertory Theatre (San Diego REP) has announced the fifth production of the company's 36th season, In the Wake.

As we arrive at the beginning of February, I trust you will want to make plans to see a couple of shows at some of our various Central Coast live performance and theatre venues!

As we near the end of January, I hope you will be making plans to attend a show (or 2?) at any one of the several theatre and live performance establishments here on the idyllic Central Coast of California!

The Hangar Theatre's Pilot Reading Series in NYC continues into 2012 with a reading of The Drama Department, a new play by James Hindman. The reading is Monday, January 30th at 7.30pm at The Black Box Theatre on Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street (between 9th and 10th Avenue). The reading will be directed by Peter Flynn, the Hangar's Artistic Director.

Based on user demand, BWW is taking our commitment to arts education one step further with the launch of the BWW Student Center - High School Edition. This directory features upcoming show listings for more than 1500 high schools nationwide with more being added each week. Schools can register for 'enhanced' listings on the site - adding in photos, cast lists, videos, links and more. Productions that take advantage of this will receive highlights on our listing pages, extra editorial mentions and potential spotlight features.

In its 10th year, Modfest is Vassar College's exploration of the arts of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that Justin Kirk will assume the role of Trip Wyeth in its critically acclaimed production of OTHER DESERT CITIES, a new play by Jon Robin Baitz, directed by Joe Mantello, on Tuesday, January 10 at the Booth Theatre (222 W. 45 Street).

Justin Kirk begins performances tomorrow, Tuesday January 10, joining Stockard Channing, Rachel Griffiths, Stacy Keach, and Judith Light in the Lincoln Center Theater production of OTHER DESERT CITIES, a new play by Jon Robin Baitz, directed by Joe Mantello, at the Booth Theatre (222 W. 45 Street).

Theater Wit's annual holiday classic The Santaland Diaries, based on David Sedaris's true, hilarious holiday tale, returns for its eighth consecutive outing in 2011 featuring a newly-enhanced set and once again starring Mitchell Fain who always plays to rave reviews and sold out houses.

The third annual production of The Santaland Diaries is set to return to Portland Center Stage's Ellyn Bye Studio with a new Crumpet the Elf in tow, actor Jim Lichtscheidl.

The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) will begin a new Trimester on December 12th. New students are welcome to register for classes continuing throughout the school year. FSPA brings together all performing arts disciplines including Music, Dance and Drama under one roof in downtown Franklin.

Inspecting Carol opens this Friday evening at 7pm. Shows are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 PM and Sunday afternoon at 3 through December 23. ACT has a 'pay what you can' preview night this Wednesday at 7 PM.
