FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Aurora Barnes in Somewhere Between Sondheim and Lullabies on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 7pm. A portion of the proceeds from the show will benefit TADA! Youth Theater. Come hear songs ranging from Sondheim to Bob Dylan to Aurora's original compositions.

On Sunday, August 20, Guild Hall presents a staged reading of 'Only A Kingdom' directed by Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award-winner Michael Wilson (The Trip to Bountiful, The Best Man), with book, music and lyrics by Judith Shubow Steir, and orchestration and arrangements by Peter Mansfield. Tom Ware is Executive Producer.

Marieann Meringolo's show "Between Yesterday and Tomorrow" The Songs of Alan & Marilyn Bergman has been playing at Feinstein's/54 Below and Broadwaywolrd was there for the closing night. The New York Times' Stephen Holden has noted, 'Ms. Meringolo, a singer who bares some physical and vocal resemblance to Barbra Streisand...is not shy about emoting in grand style. She also has a sense of humor that comes into play at appropriate moments."

This December and January, Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club offers an exciting lineup of holiday entertainment. Holiday shows features the talents of Michael Feinstein, Norm Lewis, The 8th Annual Joe Iconis Christmas Spectacular, Well-Strung, The Muppet Christmas Carol, Vodka Stinger, Christine Pedi and more. Acclaimed vocalist, Marieann Meringolo sings from the heart in her funny, poignant and romantic new show, Crazy Love. Please join Marieann as she explores the journey...and the risks...we all must take on the road to that 'special someone.' Directed by Eric Michael Gillett, the show features Musical Direction by Doyle Newmyer.

As a young veteran of the New York cabaret scene and someone who rests comfortably in that performer's purgatory between celebrity and what the folks at the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC) calls “Major Artist,” Marieann Meringolo certainly doesn't need validation from a Stevie-come-lately reviewer like me. But nobody bats 1.000—in baseball, life, or cabaret—and, frankly, I didn't cheer in print for her slightly pretentious 2013 show Orchestrated, which seemed to feature a band big enough to bust through the far wall of the Metropolitan Room and arrangements that were more than a tad overblown. But in 2011, I loved her annual holiday show, In The Spirit, and had heard nothing but great things about her 2012 tribute to the music of Michael Legrand, so I was willing to consider Orchestrated a mere hiccup—depending on what she came up with next. Well, next arrived on the afternoon of Saturday, April 5 afternoon with Meringolo's new show, Crazy Love, at the Metropolitan Room.

Mac & Bistro Award-Winning Vocalist Marieann Meringolo just concluded her third appearance of multi-night performances at NYC's premiere cabaret showroom, the Metropolitan Room, with her latest show 'Orchestrated!' It sold-out and got a standing ovation at each performance. In fact, she was held over so many times, she is a regular there now.

From The Andrews Sisters, The Mills Brothers and The Four Aces to The Beach Boys, The Beatles and The Manhattan Transfer, this fall ON THE RECORD - A Tribute to the Great Vocal Groups of the 20th Century will premiere in New York City with a run beginning today, October 19 at 3pm STAGE 72 (158 West 72nd Street).

As a big fan of cabaret shows that incorporate horn sections (as does Terese Genecco's monthly 'Little Big Band' efforts at Iridium or Carole J. Bufford's 2012 show, speakeasy., which featured Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks), I was more than a little jazzed to hear that compelling Streisand sound-alike Marieann Meringolo would be doing a package of her 'greatest cabaret hits' from past shows, but supported by a 7-piece band (including three horns--Richie Vitale on trumpet, Jonathan Kantor on tenor sax, and Danny Hall on trombone) for a gig spanning three weekend nights (May 31-June 2) that she and her director Eric Michael Gillett called 'Orchestrated.' In this case, 'orchestrated' unfortunately came across more like 'engineered' or 'manufactured.'

During his upcoming engagement, entitled Broadway My Way, Alton will deliver an alternate journey from his recent CD release of Disney tunes titled, DISNEY MY WAY, sharing his unique take on Broadway's most celebrated songs and melodies.
