Once a year, Celebrity Make Up Artist Rob Harmon and friends hold a cabaret-style benefit to raise money for Trinity Place, a shelter for GLBTQ Youth. Trinity is an amazing grassroots organization that provides shelter to New York's GLBTQ teenage community who have been displaced from their homes and families. Over the past several years this humble "Cabaret" show has become so successful that it has produced more than half the church's annual budget. The event on Sunday night featured appearances by Shoshana Bean (Wicked), Joey Taranto (Rock of Ages), Carrie Manolakos (Wicked), Donna Vivino (Wicked), Scott Alan, Neil Davis, Breedlove, SIRPAUL, Joe Hubrich (Housewives of Beverly Hills), Felicia Ricci (Wicked), Libby Servais (Wicked) and was hosted by Bianca Del Rio Sunday night's event raised more than $12,000 for the shelter. Broadway In Chicago is thrilled to announce the return engagement of WICKED this fall, beginning Wednesday, December 1, 2010. The most successful show in Chicago history makes its triumphant return to the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. Randolph) for eight weeks only, December 1, 2010 to January 23, 2011. Tickets for WICKED will go on sale to Broadway In Chicago Subscription Series holders and groups in February, 2010. Individual tickets for WICKED will be available at a later date to be announced.
Brooke Shields, the internationally-acclaimed model and film, television and Broadway star, headlined the Broadway in South Africa (BSA) charity event last night, October 28, in New York City. Shields, a constant supporter of children's causes, joined a host of Broadway and New York City artists in donating their time and talents to support BSA's efforts toward providing children, from South Africa's neediest communities, with necessary life skills through arts education. The event took place at The Box and featured an evening of songs, dance and many surprise, vaudeville-style variety acts, typical of late-night shows produced at the lower east side hotspot.

Donna Vivino, who was most recently seen as Elphaba in First National Tour of Wicked has been selected as the recipient of the Big Cat Rescue Sanctuary's 2010 "Guardian Angel" award.
I've been waiting years to see Wicked. Numerous times I've just missed the national tour as I moved from city to city and there were some unfortunately timed vacations along the way. For years friends and family have been telling me how much I have to see this show and the Original Cast Recording has played countless times in my car and office. So last night as three winged-monkeys turned a crank to raise the Wicked curtain during the Overture, my excitement could not have been higher. But I never imagined I would leave the theatre feeling…disheartened.
