Broadway's landmark musical event THE LION KING is pleased to welcome JOSHUA JACKSON as 'Young Simba' and KHAIL TOI BRYANT as 'Young Nala' to the company. Jackson and Bryant made their Broadway debuts last night.

The 17th Annual Merritt Award for Excellence in Design and Collaboration program, posthumously honoring and celebrating the work of lighting and set designer Michael Philippi (Desire Under the Elms, Death of a Salesman), 'an esteemed longtime collaborator and friend', will take place on Monday, May 3, at the Goodman Theatre.

It seems the producers are making good on promises of a resurrected SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off The Dark. According to the Actors Equity website, the production will begin holding ensemble auditions on April 13, 2010 (female dancers) and April 14, 2010 (male dancers) and April 16 (singers). According to the notices, the auditions will take place at 520 Ripley Grier.

A limited number of $30 student rush tickets will be available day of performance when the Broadway Theater (1681 Broadway) box office opens, subject to availability. Casting agency Telsey + Company posted notice on March 19 advertising Equity Principle auditions for the role on April 3, 2010.

Casting has been announced for the Philadelphia engagement of Disney's THE LION KING. Philadelphia's most eagerly awaited return will once again leap onto the Academy of Music stage from Tuesday, March 23 to Saturday, April 24.
