The AT&T Performing Arts Center announced today that veteran arts executive Mark J. Weinstein has been appointed its new President and Chief Executive Officer.

Encompass New Opera Theatre (Nancy Rhodes, Artistic Director and Mara Waldman, Music Director) presents the World Premiere of Angel of the Amazon, a new music drama with libretto and music by Evan Mack at The Jerome Robbins Theater at Baryshnikov Arts Center, 450 West 37th Street, NYC.

The New Amsterdam Singers, led by Music Director Clara Longstreth, will present a program of American works from 1978 to 2009 written in the Romantic style, and entitled With a Lily in Your Hand-the title of a recent piece by Eric Whitacre, which the chorus will perform.

Gutzman not only wrote the show but will also be directing it. He is no stranger to the Skylight, having directed twenty-three shows in the 1970s and 80s.
