Last month, the Broadway community gathered together to celebrate the life and show business legacy of beloved Broadway performer Kevin Gray at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street). The Majestic Theatre held a special place for Mr. Gray, having starred there in The Phantom of the Opera, first as Raoul and later as The Phantom. Titled A Celebration of the Life of Kevin Gray, the memorial tribute, you can the full event below.

'He simply couldn't live without it. He breathed it like air. 'He was fearless, full in and flat out'. He devoured the stage ravenously,' Furthermore Kevin Gray's addiction to his passion for theater was contagious as he shared his enormous talent and energy with so many.

The Broadway community will gather together to celebrate the life and show business legacy of beloved Broadway performer Kevin Gray on Monday, May 13 at 2PM at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street). The Majestic Theatre held a special place for Mr. Gray, having starred there in The Phantom of the Opera, first as Raoul and later as The Phantom.

'The Kevin Gray Musical Theater Award Endowment Fund' at Duke University and 'The Kevin Gray Memorial Scholarship Award' at the Hartt School at the University of Hartford have been created to provide financial support to promising students as they pursue training in musical theater. Any level of contribution will help guarantee that this type of educational experience is made available to students who choose to follow in Kevin's footsteps as they attend one of these two institutions.

There are few who have seen Kevin Gray on stage and have not been touched by his performance. There are none who have worked with or known Kevin Gray whose lives have not been enhanced by this incredible person.

Friends are invited to greet his family on Saturday, February 16th from noon to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 17th from noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield Center. Interment will be private.

Here, just two weeks ago Gray and his wife talked to BroadwayWorld's Richie Ridge at the Phantom Gala, looking back at their time in the show. Our condolences go out to all who loved, worked with and learned from this lovely man.

BroadwayWorld.com has just learned the sad news that Kevin Gray, who most recently was seen in New York at the 25th Anniversary Gala for The Phantom of the Opera, passed away suddenly of a heart attack last night at the young age of 55. Gray leaves behind his wife, Dodie Pettit, who he met while starring in Broadway's Phantom.

Kevin Gray, playing The King of Siam in St. Louis' currently running production of THE KING AND I, returns to The Muny after previously playing the Engineer in Miss Saigon (2001). In this conversation with Muny Executive Producer Mike Isaacson, Gray discusses his varied career and his rexamination of this role, one he's played before, for The Muny's production. The Muny presents the seventh and final show of its 94th season, The King and I, now through August 12, directed by Rob Ruggiero and choreographed by Ralph Perkins. Kevin Gray, playing The King of Siam, returns to The Muny after previously playing the Engineer in Miss Saigon (2001). Making her Muny debut as Anna Leonowens is Laura Michelle Kelly.
