Pacific Symphony presents “The Langston Hughes Project,” a multimedia concert performance of the poet's jazz poem suite titled, Ask Your Mama: Twelve Moods for Jazz. This is Hughes' homage in verse and music to the struggle for artistic and social freedom at home and abroad at the beginning of the 1960s.

Bloomingdale School of Music will present The Piano Music of Ed Bland, a free online faculty concert, on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 7pm. In honor of Black History Month, faculty member Judith Olson will perform works by African American composer Ed Bland (1926-2013), with whom she worked for many years.

The music of Linda Ronstadt will co-star in a new show from Tony Award nominee and critically acclaimed jazz diva Ann Hampton Callaway at The Ridgefield Playhouse on March 12th at 8:00pm. The platinum selling artist takes you on a musical journey through the songbook of one of America’s most beloved artists, Linda Ronstadt.

Celebrate Black History Month at The Herb + Milly Iris Gallery at SOPAC with the photography of local notable, Patrick Hilaire. The exhibition Light [+Sound], on display from February 1-28, showcases 25 of Hilaire's stunning black-and-white portraits of Jazz musicians.

Pompano Beach Arts has a variety of concerts planned for February. Fan favorites Soulful Sundays and Live and Local return with two stellar bands, while Jazz Reflections offers a brilliant tribute to Black jazz composers. Tickets and details can be found here. 

The Green Room 42 has announced their February line-up for in-person performances. Additionally, The Green Room 42 is excited to launch 5/5/5 Tickets – in celebration of their 5th Anniversary, five $5 tickets will be available for every show from February 15, 2022, through February 14, 2023.

THE DJANGO, downtown Manhattan’s premier jazz club, is commemorating Women’s History Month by hosting more than 20 leading female jazz artists on its stage during March.

Modern Jazz Meets Musical Theatre runs for two performances only, Feb. 18th and 19th at 7:30pm, at The Encore Musical Theatre Company. The NEC Jazz Orchestra presents Soul on Soul – The Music of Mary Lou Williams on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. in NEC’s Jordan Hall, 290 Huntington Avenue, Boston.
