Beatrice Williams-Rude Releases Mirthful New Memoir

NEW YORK - Beatrice Williams-Rude's mostly merry memoir chronicles her experiences as an innocent who arrives in Manhattan during the golden age of Broadway and TV in quest of a career in theater-or, dream number one, opera. 'Misadventures of a Would-Be Muse' (published by Xlibris) details episodes in her life including the people with whom she crossed paths: famous and celebrated, powerful but infamous, financiers and frauds, lechers and protectors. She names those who helped and those who hindered.

Drum Legend Corky Laing is Presented the Bonzo Bash Legend Award

Much to the excitement of drummers worldwide, one of rock's icons, drum legend Corky Laing, recently received the prestigous 'Bonzo Bash Legend Award' at the Bergen PAC in New Jersey on May 31st. The award was presented by original Kiss drummer Peter Criss!

Ben Rimalower's PATTI ISSUES Extends Through 8/15 at The Duplex

The O'Neill Announces Cabaret & Performance Conference Lineup

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center has announced its final schedule of performances for the 2013 Cabaret & Performance Conference. Beginning July 31, the ten-day conference will feature performances nightly, with the Grand Finale on Saturday evening, August 11.

Guild Hall, the visual and performing arts center on eastern Long Island, recently honored the recipients of the 28th Academy of the Arts Lifetime Achievement Awards: John Alexander for Visual Arts; Walter Isaacson for Literary Arts; Nathan Lane for Performing Arts and Mickey Straus, who received the Special Award for Leadership and Philanthropy. Marshall Brickman was the Master of Ceremonies with special guest presenters: Ken Auletta, Alec Baldwin, Jack O'Brien and Lorne Michaels. The official opening night for Polly Draper in MY BRILLIANT DIVORCE, took place last Saturday night at Bay Street Theatre. Geraldine Aron, the playwright for this American Premiere attended the after party in the lobby along with other theatre veterans including Blythe Danner, TEd Hartley and Dina Merrill, John McDaniel, Terrence McNally, Joe Pintauro, Mercedes Ruehl, Sloan Shelton, and Harris Yulin. The show runs now through Sunday, June 24. The production is directed by Matt McGrath, one of Bay Street Theatre's Artistic Associates.

Lorenzo Lamas to Lead Reagle Music Theatre's A CHORUS LINE, June 15-24

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston has announced the full cast of A Chorus Line, the landmark Tony Award-winning musical which opens the company's 44th consecutive summer season. Starring Golden Globe nominee Lorenzo Lamas (The Bold and the Beautiful, Air America, Renegade, Falcon Crest) as Zach, A Chorus Line runs June 15-24 in the Robinson Theatre, 617 Lexington Street, Waltham.

Jim Dale, Lillias White, CROSS THAT RIVER et al. Coming up at the Eugene O'Neill

The Cabaret & Performance Conference, led by artistic director Michael Bush, will present five more nights of new work featuring world-class entertainers. The week begins Tuesday, August 9 at 8pm with Jim Dale, Tony-Winner and voice of the Harry Potter audio books in his one-man show Jim Dale: Still Carrying On. Wednesday is Lillias White: From Brooklyn to Broadway, a personal journey with one of the musical theater?s great ladies, which will perform August 10 at 8pm.

James Earl Jones Awarded O'Neill's Monte Cristo Award, 5/9

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center will present its annual Monte Cristo Award to legendary Broadway and screen actor James Earl Jones, in recognition of his monumental achievements and contributions to the American and international theater community. The award will be presented to Mr. Jones at a gala dinner held in his honor at Bridgewaters - South Street Seaport in New York City on Monday, May 9th at 6:30pm.
