The personal theatrical papers of Katharine Hepburn, which were acquired by The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in 2007, will be on view for the first time in the new library exhibition, Katharine Hepburn: In Her Own Files, opening Wednesday, June 10. Her long and rich theater career is documented through typescripts (some, like the script for Coco, annotated in Hepburn?s hand), hundreds of photographs (publicity shots and formal portraits, as well as informal snapshots and rehearsal candids), scrapbooks, promotional ephemera, and sixty years of correspondence (fan mail, congratulatory notes, and general letters from such notable friends and admirers as Judy Garland, Richard Burton, John Ford, Vivien Leigh, Peter O?Toole, Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart, and Jeremy Irons, among scores of others. She saved telegrams from her friends and from stage crews and even the cards that come with flower bouquets, including many signed ?Pot,? Hepburn?s pet name for long-time companion Spencer Tracy). The exhibition continues through Saturday, October 10, 2009 in the Vincent Astor Gallery of The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts Dorothy and Lewis B. Produced by Stuart Oken, Roy Furman, Michael Leavitt and Five Cent Productions, by special arrangement with Elephant Eye Theatrical, THE ADDAMS FAMILY will open on Broadway Thursday, April 8, 2010 at a Nederlander theatre to be announced. Previews will begin Thursday, March 4, 2010 following a pre-Broadway engagement at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre in Chicago that begins November 13.
Emmy Award winning talk show host and author Dick Cavett will moderate an ?intimate conversation? between Academy Award-winning actress Estelle Parsons and recent Princess Grace Award-winning artist, Toccarra Cash (Theater, 2007) at a cocktail reception to benefit The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA). The discussion will explore the path to a successful career in the arts. Estelle Parsons is currently starring in the Tony Award-winning play August: Osage County on Broadway in the role of Violet Weston, directed by Tony Award winner Anna Shapiro, also a Princess Grace Award winner (1996, Theater/Directing). PGF-USA is a public charity that supports emerging artists in theater, dance and film through scholarships, apprenticeships and fellowships.

It will be hosted by legendary television talk show host Dick Cavett. Jack Cole gave Broadway, film and television a vocabulary and style of movement that is still imitated today. Protégés Gwen Verdon, Chita Rivera, Carol Haney and Bob Fosse have passed down his legacy, and his influence can still be seen. The popularity of these panels exposes a need within the theatrical/dance community to preserve the History, Legacy and Lives of dancers throughout the Golden Years of Theatre and Dance.
