ATYP to Present STOP KISS, 5-22 March

Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) launch their 2014 Selects season (previously known as Under the Wharf) with the Australian premiere of Diana Son's critically acclaimed play Stop Kiss. Presented by Unlikely Productions, the production opens on the 7th of March and is an official 2014 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras event.

Fountain Hills Theater to Present SPAMALOT, 2/21-3/16

Monty Pythons' Spamalot, lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, is the legendary tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, along with showgirls, killer rabbits and French people!. In his quest for the Holy Grail, King Arthur and his knights encounter all sorts of strange people including debating sentries, taunting French guards, the glamorous Lady of the Lake and her Laker Girls, the Knights who say Ni and the Black Knight who refuses to accept defeat. Did we mention the bevy of beautiful showgirls?

Twin Cities theatre audiences will have a rare opportunity to see a professional production of Diana Son's acclaimed play STOP KISS when Fortune's Fool Theatre presents it at Nimbus Theatre, 1517 Central Avenue NE, Minneapolis. It will open tonight, January 25, 2014, and run through February 8.

Twin Cities theatre audiences will have a rare opportunity to see a professional production of Diana Son's acclaimed play STOP KISS when Fortune's Fool Theatre presents it at Nimbus Theatre, 1517 Central Avenue NE, Minneapolis. It will open on January 25, 2014, and run through February 8. Performances will be at 7:30 on January 25, 27, 30, and 31; February 1, 6, 7, & 8. Performances will be at 3:00 on January 26 and February 2. Ticket prices will be $15 general admission, $12 students/seniors/MN Fringe button holders. Monday, January 27 will be a Pay What You Can performance.

On Sunday, September 22 New Georges held their BIG Benefit at Seamen's House, a private townhouse in Chelsea. The fundraiser featured a special performance by Eisa Davis and short plays and songs written specifically for the event by Laura Eason, Boo Killebrew, Julie Kramer, Rachel Peters and Charise Castro Smith, featuring Heidi Schreck, Maria-Christina Oliveras, Amy Wilson, Stephanie Wright Thompson, Eric Clem and others. New Georges Announces THE AUDREY RESIDENCIES for 2013-14

At a benefit event held for New Georges on Sunday, September 22, Producing Artistic Director Susan Bernfield and board member Michael Osso announced a new program at New Georges, The Audrey Residencies, and the artists and projects chosen for 2013-14, the program's inaugural year. Sunday's event also featured the premiere showing of a video about New Georges produced by tdf for tdfSTAGES' Meet the Theatre series and directed by Mark Blankenship, tdf's online content editor, to be released in early November.

Plays by Robert O'Hara, Jessica Blank & More Set for The Public's NEW WORK NOW! Series, Begin. 9/9

The Public Theater announced the September line-up today for NEW WORK NOW!, the free reading series that allows audiences an opportunity to experience new work by a diverse selection of established and emerging theater artists. NEW WORK NOW! will run September 9 to September 21 in The Public's Martinson Theater (425 Lafayette Street). Now in its twentieth season, NEW WORK NOW! is an important part of The Public Theater's ongoing commitment to developing and mentoring new voices for the American Theater.

Simone Federman to Direct STRANGE RAIN at FringeNYC, Begin. 8/9

STRANGE RAIN follows two reporters as they try to unravel the mystery of a prolonged rain with the aid of lesbian psychics, comic meteorologists, a street-kid poet, and a mysterious man who talks of UFOs and secret experiments in the desert, all leading back decades to the real-life experiments of Wilhelm Reich in the 1950s. The story, though, is not so much about Reich as about deciding what is real and making peace with a difficult past. There are several love stories-central, a boy's love for his father.

These New York playwrights who write for television gather at the Segal to examine whether their work is enhanced or compromised by working in both worlds tonight, May 20th, 2013.

New Georges (Susan Bernfield, Producing Artistic Director; Sarah Cameron Sunde, Deputy Artistic Director; Jaynie Saunders Tiller, Managing Director) will present the World Premiere of Lynn Rosen's (Apple Cove with Women's Project) GOLDOR $ MYTHYKA: A HERO IS BORN directed by Shana Gold (Food and Fadwa with New York Theatre Workshop) April 3-27 at The New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street between Greenwich and Washington). Casting will be announced on Friday, February 22. Tickets will go on sale Friday, March 1.

CHASING THE SONG, THE TALL GIRLS, BRAHMAN/I & More Set for La Jolla Playhouse's 2013 DNA New Work Series

La Jolla Playhouse announces a new play development initiative, the DNA New Work Series, entailing a six-week period of workshop productions and public readings of new plays and musicals, taking place today, January 24 through March 3, 2013. The focus of the DNA New Work Series is to allow playwrights and directors the opportunity to develop a script by providing rehearsal time, space and resources, culminating in a workshop production or public reading.

Katselas Theatre Company and Rogue Machine's DIRTY FILTHY Adds Performance to Weekly Schedule

The Katselas Theatre Company and Rogue Machine will present an extended run of the current hit, DIRTY FILTHY LOVE STORY (CRITIC'S CHOICE-LA Times). The popular Skylight Theatre is the new venue for the show as Rogue Machine and The Katselas Theatre Company prepare for their 2013 season. Due to overwhelming demand, this production will now have four performances a week, beginning January 18th.
