BMCC Presents WORK & SHOW FESTIVAL Beginning 3/23

BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center at the Borough of Manhattan Community College presents its annual WORK & SHOW FESTIVAL beginning March 23. This outgrowth of their twelve year old Artist-in-Residence program will feature five programs of new work by artists representing both dance and theater. The program for the series is as follows:

Contemporary dance company dre.dance (Andrew Palermo and Taye Diggs) examines autism in their latest World Premiere, BEYOND.WORDS. Performances of this challenging new work run April 2-4 at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center.

Fred Newman's COMING OF AGE IN KOREA Runs Through 3/1

The off-Broadway Castillo Theatre (www.castillo.org) presents Fred Newman's Coming of Age in Korea, co-directed by Gabrielle L. Kurlander and Desmond Richardson, which tells the story of three GIs, who fall in love with South Korean prostitutes, one of whom is brutally raped and killed.. Coming of Age in Korea: Friday, January 16 and runs through March 1, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m., at the Castillo Theatre, 543 West 42nd Street admission $35 adults; $10 students: Book and lyrics are by Newman

Castillo Theater Presents Newman's COMING OF AGE IN KOREA

Echoing last week's headlines about the sex trade in South Korea, the off-Broadway Castillo Theatre will present Fred Newman's Coming of Age in Korea,co-directed by Gabrielle L. Kurlander and Desmond Richardson, which tells the story of three GIs, who fall in love with South Korean prostitutes, one of whom is brutally raped and killed. Coming of Age in Korea opens Friday, January 16th and runs through March 1, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m., at the Castillo Theatre, 543 West 42nd Street.
