Penumbra Theatre Company, the nation's preeminent African American theatre, proudly announces the opening of Black Nativity: A Season for Change, by T. Mychael Rambo and Lou Bellamy, directed by Dominic Taylor, with musical direction by Sanford Moore on Thursday, December 3, 2009. The production will run December 3 - December 27, 2009.

Broadway veteran Stephen Collins will appear alongside JoBeth Williams on the December 3rd episode of ABC's 'Private Practice.' The actors will portray the father of actor Kate Walsh's character, Dr. Addison Montgomery. Collins will appear as the husband of actress JoBeth Williams.

YoungArts, the core program of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA), is set to honor two internationally-acclaimed artists, dancer and choreographer Desmond Richardson and actress and director Liv Ullmann. Richardson will accept the YoungArts Alumni Award and Ullmann will accept the Arison Award at YoungArts' An Affair of the Arts Performance and Gala, January 16 at the Gusman Center and the Alfred I. DuPont Building. SunTrust Bank is Title Presenting Sponsor.

SocialMiami.com is reporting that director Liv Ullmann and Broadway veteran Desmond Richardson will receive YoungArts Awards granted by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts at the YoungArts Gala on January 16, 2010. The Gala is the culmination in a week long workshop provided by YoungArts that allows young artists to take master classes in the arts.

As previously announced, this Saturday the organization will celebrate its 15th Anniversary Season-entitled LOVE, SWEAT & TEARS. The company will commemorate the occasion with a star-studded Anniversary Gala, a wide-ranging tour, and a series of performances at NYC's world-renowned hub for dance arts - The Joyce Theater. S. Epatha Merkerson and Alana De La Garza will co-host Complexions Contemporary Ballet's 15th anniversary gala at the Allen Room on Friday, October 16 at 7pm.
