On November 7th more than 150 theatre artists and patrons attended the 2011 Castillo Theatre Gala Benefit at the All Stars Project's performing arts and development center, 543 West 42nd Street. The gala, which raised a record $77,000 for Castillo and its youth theatre training program, Youth Onstage!, paid tribute to four influential women of the theatre: Carmen De Lavallade, Gabrielle L. Kurlander, Judith Malina and Daphne Rubin-Vega.

Desmond Richardson, recent featured choreographer and soloist on FOX's hit show So You Think You Can Dance and described by the New York Times as 'one of the great modern dancers of his time,' is bringing his company, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, to Kingsbury Hall for one night only. The performance will include a premiere of the company's newest work, Places Please. Skirball Center for the Performing Arts at NYU and clearly delivered on its promise of a star studded evening of music & dance with one show-stopping number after another.
