Variety reports that Boardwalk Empire's Vincent Piazza, an early frontrunner for the role of 'Tommy Devito' in Clint Eastwood's upcoming film adaptation of the musical JERSEY BOYS, has officially joined the project.

Academy Award, Tony Award and Emmy Award winner Christopher Plummer will star in a Center Theatre Group special event, 'A Word or Two,' written and arranged by Plummer and directed by Tony Award winner Des McAnuff at the CTG/Ahmanson Theatre.

Tickets will go on sale today, August 18 at 12:00 pm for Milwaukee's return engagement of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, playing the Marcus Center on October 16-27, 2013.

BroadwayWorld has learned that Renee Marino, who currently plays 'Mary Delgado' in Jersey Boys on Broadway, will play the role in the upcoming big screen adaptation, which is to be directed by Clicnt Eastwood. Her other Broadway credits include: Wonderland and Chaplin.

Tony, Grammy, and Olivier Award-winning hit musical JERSEY BOYS, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, will make its much-anticipated return to Columbus to play the Ohio Theatre September 17-29.

Deadline.com reports that Johnny Cannizzaro and Mike Doyle are the latest to join the cast of Clint Eastwood's upcoming big screen adaptation of JERSEY BOYS. Cannizzaro will play 'Nick DeVito' -- twin brother of Tommy DeVito and founding member of The Variety Trio -- with Doyle taking on the role of music producer 'Bob Crewe'.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series welcomed Broadway's Clarke Thorell in Songs I Wish I'd Written for one night only, Monday, August 5 at 7pm. The concert featured songs by Harry Nilsson, Paul McCartney, Adam Guettel, Lambert, Hendricks & Ross, Elvis Costello, Chris Thile, and Sting. Joining Clarke were Musical Director/pianist Dan Lipton, along with singers Brian d'Arcy James, Cortes Alexander, Haven Burton and Jim Caruso. The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to present the club's debut of Clarke Thorell in Songs I Wish I'd Written for one night only, Monday, August 5 at 7pm. Broadway's Brian D'Arcy James will duet with Thorell.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jeremy Luke and Joey Russo have signed on to join the cast of Clint Eastwood's upcoming big screen adaptation of Jersey Boys. Russo will star as 'Joe 'Joey' Pesci,' who helped create the Four Seasons and Luke will play a loan shark named 'Donnie.'

Producers of the Tony Award winning MATILDA THE MUSICAL announced today that Craig Bierko and Jill Paice will join the company as Miss Trunchbull and Miss Honey, respectively, on September 3. Bertie Carvel and Lauren Ward will play their final performances in those roles on September 1.

Due to popular demand, La Jolla Playhouse has extended the run of its production of Sideways, by Rex Pickett, directed by Playhouse Director Emeritus Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots).
