This week, 'LIVE! with Regis and Kelly' welcomes some of today's most popular Broadway entertainers who are known to light up both the stage and screen during their popular 'Broadway Week.' A BEHANDING IN SPOKEANE's Christopher Walken and cast members from AMERICAN IDIOT kicked off 'Broadway Week' today, April 26. For the next week, each day, hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa will feature the seasons most exciting shows, with the hosts themselves taking part in some of the productions. For the show's musical guests today, AMERICAN IDIOT stars John Gallagher Jr., Michael Esper and Stark Sands performed the show's rendition of 'Wake Me Up When September Ends.' Two-time Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington stars in the first Broadway revival of FENCES, the 1987 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play by August Wilson. The production also stars Tony Award-winner and Academy Award-nominee Viola Davis. FENCES, directed by Kenny Leon, opens tonight, Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Cort Theatre. The strictly limited 13-week engagement began previews on April 14.

2010 Outer Critics Circle Award Nominations Announced

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway publicly announced the nominees for the 2009-10 season on Monday, April 26th (11AM) at the historic Algonquin Hotel (59 West 44th Street). Outer Critics Circle posted award nominations in 23 categories and are the first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season.

Huntington Theatre Co Honors Kenny Leon and Bank of America 4/25

The Huntington Theatre Company will honor Broadway director Kenny Leon and Bank of America, the organization's Education and Access Partner, this Sunday, April 25, 2010 at its Spotlight Spectacular! annual gala benefit. Leon and Bank of America will receive The Wimberly Award, the Huntington's highest honor.

Maverick Theater presents THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE, 4/23 - 6/5

Directed by Maverick Theater owner and artistic director Brian Newell, THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE opens April 23rd and runs through June 5th. THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE is a story about the son of a prominent right-wing political family who has been brainwashed as an unwitting assassin for an international Communist conspiracy.

Classic Stage Company (CSC), under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Jessica R. Jenen, will present two-time Academy Award-winner Dianne Wiest in THE FOREST, by Alexander Ostrovosky, translated by Kathleen Tolan, and directed by Brian Kulick, beginning performances Friday, April 23 at CSC (136 East 13th Street) with an official press opening Thursday, May 6 at 7pm.

Classic Stage Company (CSC), under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Jessica R. The Drama League (Jano Herbosch, President; Gabriel Shanks, Executive Director), announced the nominations for the 2009-10 Drama League Awards today at Sardi's with the help of Broadway stars Kelsey Grammer (La Cage Aux Folles) and Bebe Neuwirth (The Addams Family). The 76th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon will take place on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 12:00pm at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. The event will be co-hosted by Vanessa Williams (Sondheim on Sondheim) and Michael Urie (The Temperamentals).
