La Jolla Playhouse announces five shows for its 2015/2016 season, featuring all new works, including the world-premiere musical Come from Away, featuring book, music and lyrics by acclaimed Canadian husband-and-wife team Irene Sankoff and David Hein, directed by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley; the world premiere of Indecent, co-created by director Rebecca Taichman (Playhouse's Sleeping Beauty Wakes, Milk Like Sugar), and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel (How I Learned to Drive), co-produced with Yale Repertory Theatre; and Blueprints to Freedom: An Ode to Bayard Rustin, by Michael Benjamin Washington (Memphis, The Wiz), directed by The Cosby Show's Phylicia Rashad, which had its first workshop during the Playhouse's 2014 DNA New Work Series.

The Fordham University Theatre Program will host a live taping of Emmy Award-winning writer Randy Cohen's popular radio show, Person Place Thing, on Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. at Fordham University's Lincoln Center Campus (Pope Auditorium).

Producer Hal Luftig announced today the first-ever Broadway revival of the Tony Award-winning play Children of a Lesser God. Written by Tony Award-winner and Academy Award nominee Mark Medoff and directed by this year's Tony Award-winner Kenny Leon, Children of a Lesser God will open in the upcoming 2015-2016 Broadway season.

Queens Theatre will present the Tony-nominated play Say Goodnight Gracie, starring Alan Safier as George Burns, written by Rupert Holmes (The Mystery of Edwin Drood) and directed by Michael White. The show will be at Queens Theatre (14 United Nations Avenue South, Flushing Meadows Corona Park) today, September 27 at 2pm & 8pm and on Sunday, September 28 at 3pm. According to Fandango, the nation's leading moviegoer destination, Denzel Washington's action-drama “The Equalizer” is #1 on this week's Fanticipation movie buzz indicator, scoring 84 out of 100 points, and is delivering explosive weekend ticket sales. “The Equalizer” is outpacing advance ticket sales for Washington's previous hits, “2 Guns” and “Safe House,” and director Antoine Fuqua's last movie, “Olympus Has Fallen,” at the same point in those films' sales cycles.

The 2014 First Niagara Rochester Fringe Festival runs today, September 18-27, 2014, in and around downtown Rochester's East End. Fringe 2014 will include more than 380 shows of all genres in 28 venues that range from parked cars to the return of the Magic Crystal Spiegeltent.
