WWE Studios, Relativity and Blumhouse Productions Partner on Intrepid Pictures' Oculus

WWE Studios (NYSE:WWE), Relativity and Blumhouse Productions announced today a partnership in connection to the release of Intrepid Pictures' Oculus, the Mike Flanagan-directed supernatural horror film starring Karen Gillan (Doctor Who, Not Another Happy Ending), Brenton Thwaites (the upcoming Maleficent, The Giver), Rory Cochrane (Argo, Parkland) and Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, Riddick). WWE Studios will leverage its extensive multi-platform reach to help promote the film that debuted at the Midnight Madness section of the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. Oculus was developed and produced by Trevor Macy and Marc D. Evans of Intrepid Pictures, who co-financed with MICA Entertainment and is set for a wide theatrical release on April 11, 2014.

The Public Theater announced today that THE LIBRARY, a world premiere drama written by award-winning writer Scott Z. Burns and directed by Academy Award winner Steven Soderbergh, has been added to The Public's 2014 spring season. THE LIBRARY, featuring Chloe Grace Moretz, will run in The Public's Newman Theater from Tuesday, March 25 through Sunday, April 27; with an official press opening on Tuesday, April 15. Additional casting will be announced shortly.

Produced by Scott Rudin, Tony Award-winner and two-time Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington will star as Walter Lee Younger in Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun, opposite film, television and Tony Award-winning stage starDiahann Carroll as Lena Younger, in her first Broadway appearance in over 30 years.The production will be directed by Tony Award-nominee Kenny Leon. Previews begin March 8, 2014, with opening night on April 3, 2014 at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street), where the original production of A Raisin in the Sun opened 55 years ago. A Raisin in the Sun is a limited engagement, running 14 weeks only through June 15, 2014. The marquee just went up at the Barrymore Theatre and BroadwayWorld was there as it was being installed. New York, NY — Cellist Maya Beiser will participate in the Rubin Museum of Art's Brainwave: Mind Over Matter series with cognitive psychologist Jamshed Barucha on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 6pm at the Rubin Museum of Art (150 West 17th Street). Maya will perform composer Michael Harrison's Just Ancient Loops, a 25-minute piece with a film by Bill Morrison, and will converse with Barucha, the President of Cooper Union, about tonality and what effect music has on our psyche and wellbeing.
