Virginia Repertory Theatre presents the award-winning musical, Mame, at the Sara Belle and Neil November Theatre, 114 West Broad Street, running through January 11, 2014. Mame is based on the novel, Auntie Mame, by Patrick Dennis with a book by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee and unforgettable music and lyrics by Jerry Herman. It's the dazzling musical that proves life's a banquet, featuring the classic songs 'We Need a Little Christmas,' 'It's Today,' 'Bosom Buddies' and, of course, 'Mame.'

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that it will present Tony & Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth as 'Lily Garland' and Golden Globe & SAG Award winner & Tony nominee Peter Gallagher as 'Oscar Jaffe' in a new Broadway production of the classic musical ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY, directed by Scott Ellis and choreographed by Warren Carlyle. Virginia Repertory Theatre revealed the new titles for the 2014/15 Season with a public announcement at the November Theatre last evening. The announcement marks Bruce Miller and Phil Whiteway's 40th season as Artistic Director and Managing Director. Miller reflects on this milestone, "I'm proud to be announcing my 40th season as Artistic Director. The 18 shows that comprise Virginia Rep's 2014/15 roster include several of my favorite comedies, dramas and musicals. In a recent feature with US Weekly, music legend Cher revealed that she has her sights set on a part with theatrical origins. 'I have watched the 1958 film 'Auntie Mame', with Rosalind Russell, at least 100 times. I would love to play that part in a remake.' The film was based on the Patrick Dennis novel and 1956 play of the same title, which was later turned into the 1966 musical- MAME. Here's to hoping that the diva will play the role on Broadway!
