The new Broadway musical THE ADDAMS FAMILY, based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, will begin a national tour in September, 2011 at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts in New Orleans, LA. A complete tour schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.

Borders Columbus Circle presents 'THE ADDAMS FAMILY: From Page to Stage' May 14. Appearing at this event will be book writers Rick Elice and Marshall Brickman, composer-lyricist Andrew Lippa and select cast members. Joining the creative team will be Sarah Henry. Henry is the curator of the Charles Addams Exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York.

The kids are on Spring break and what better way to enjoy it than here on Broadway!

Decca Broadway has announced the official release of the forthcoming Original Cast Recording from The Addams Family. The new musical is based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, and will open Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, with previews underway now. The disc will be available everywhere in June 2010.

The New York Times is reporting that Tony-winner Jerry Zaks has officially been brought in to take over and to supervise THE ADDAMS FAMILY. Zaks will be billed as the show's 'Creative Consultant' with Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch still listed as directors and production designers, but it's been made clear that Jerry Zaks is the new man in charge.
He tells the Times that he is looking forward to 'taking this original musical to the next level.' As a result of taking this job, Zaks will no longer direct All About Me, which stars Dame Edna and Michael Feinstein.
