The production stars two-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone, who has previously appeared in Mamet's The Woods, All Men are Whores, The Blue Hour, The Water Engine, Edmond and The Old Neighborhood; and three-time Academy Award nominee Debra Winger, whose previous stage credits include How I Learned to Drive and Ivanov at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts and The Exonerated in New York. Winger will be making her Broadway debut in The Anarchist.

Producers Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and Howard & Janet Kagan announced today that THE ANARCHIST, a new play written and directed by DAVID MAMET starring PATTI LuPONE and DEBRA WINGER, previously announced to be presented at the Lyceum Theatre, will now be presented on Broadway at the newly refurbished Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street). All persons who purchased tickets prior to the venue change will be contacted by Telecharge.
Principal photography has begun on "Very Good Girls," written and directed by Naomi Foner, with Dakota Fanning, Elizabeth Olsen, Boyd Holbrook, Demi Moore, Ellen Barkin, Richard Dreyfuss, Clark Gregg, Kiernan Shipka and Peter Sarsgaard. Norton Herrick's Herrick Entertainment is producing and financing the project with Michael London's Groundswell Productions producing. "Very Good Girls" will shoot on location in New York.
As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this week, David Mamet's 1984 play Glengarry Glen Ross is heading back to Broadway, this time starring Al Pacino as leading man, 'Shelly "The Machine" Levene.' Pacino previously played 'Richard Roma' the the 1992 film adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play. Daniel Sullivan is attached to direct the project. The New York Times has confirmed that the show will begin previews on October 16 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater. Opening night is set for November 11.
