Hope Mohr Dance Sets Spring, Fall 2015 Seasons

Hope Mohr Dance has announced the program for its 2015 spring and fall seasons, featuring three world premieres including a collaboration with choreographer Christian Burns, and works by visiting artists Deborah Hay andJeanine Durning. Hope Mohr's spring season is co-presented by ODC Theater, Thursday - Sunday, May 28 - 31. Mohr's annual Bridge Project in the fall is co-presented by CounterPulse, Friday - Sunday, November 6 - 8.

Velocity is proud to present the world premiere of How to become a partisan on April 25, 2015 at Saint Mark's Cathedral. This five-hour immersive hybrid performance by Italian-American choreographer Alice Gosti, and in collaboration with Seattle composer Hanna Benn, is commissioned, developed and produced through Velocity's Made in Seattle new dance development program.

Swift advance sales have prompted the Stratford Festival to extend the runs of four productions, just as the box office has opened to the public. Performances of Carousel, The Alchemist, The Physicists and The Last Wife have been added to the schedule.

New York Live Arts to Welcome Lang Dance for Fall Performance, 12/12-13

New York Live Arts presents Eugene Lang College's Fall Performance, December 12 & 13 at 7:30pm. Part of The New School for Liberal Arts, the dance program at Lang has been referred to as “home to one of the more progressive collegiate dance departments in New York” (The New York Times). These fall performances feature new works by Reggie Wilson and Jeanine Durning. In addition, choreographers in the dance program will interface their semester-long choreographic research practice with a New York Live Arts showcase. (All works will be performed by students of the Eugene Lang College dance program.)

Dance Art Foundation Takes Joe Moran's ASSEMBLY on UK Tour, Beginning Today

In the first national tour of his work, choreographer Joe Moran, with his company Dance Art Foundation, presents a collection of dance works this autumn. The tour will visit a diverse range of institutions, as these three works are staged in collaboration with galleries, theatres and health organisations across the UK. ASSEMBLY will tour from today, 16 October to 15 November 2014 with a press performance set for the University of Bedford Theatre on 22 October and the Greenwich Dance Agency on 15 November.

Celebrated Portland choreographer Tahni Holt's provocative world-premiere Duet Love plays with our precious notions of hetero-romance. Holt and a stellar Pacific Northwest artistic team, draw from iconic photographs of famous couples as a driving force to disrupt and question how gendered bodies are portrayed in performance. Developed during a June and August 2014 Velocity Creative Residency, Duet Love thrives upon queer twists by asking: How does audience desire inflect the experience of masculine/feminine into the movement and emotion of dancing bodies? Performed by Ezra Dickinson, Keyon Gaskin, Allie Hankins and Lucy Yim. Music composed by Luke Wyland with special guest Corinna Repp. Dramaturgy by Robert Tyree. Lighting design by Jeff Forbes. Costume design by Jayme Hansen and Kate Fenker. Artistic advice by Chris Larson.
