Nominations Announced for 2010 Hewes Design Awards

Nine theater artists will be honored by the Henry Hewes Design Awards Committee during the presentation of its 46th Annual Awards in a luncheon ceremony this fall. Eighty-one theater artists were nominated for outstanding artistry in 46 productions presented during the 2009-2010 New York theater season. Manhattan Theatre Club's production of THAT FACE by Polly Stenham, directed by Sarah Benson (Blasted, Artistic Director of Soho Rep), will begin its final week of performances, tomorrow, Tuesday, June 22 at 7 PM at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).The production will play the final performance of its limited engagement on Sunday, June 27 after playing 48 regular performances and 21 previews.

Actor Gregory Harrison Talks About La Jolla's Surf Report

Actor Gregory Harrison will star @ La Jolla Playhouse in June in the world premiere of Surf Report. His association with Catalina Productions in Los Angeles for so many years put him at the top of his craft as a stage actor and theatrical producer. He revolutionized the theatre scene here and was rewarded over and over for those successes. Of course, he is recognized most for TV's Trapper John M.D. and the countless MOWs and Cable films he has done over the past thirty years. This ageless man, still an avid surfer, is now preparing to take on his dream role @ La Jolla.

Shows Developed At Berkeley Rep Receive Outer Critics Circle Awards

Today, with the announcement of its annual awards, the Outer Critics Circle recognized two shows developed at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Carrie Fisher won the award for Outstanding Solo Performance with Wishful Drinking, and Kevin Adams of American Idiot was honored for Outstanding Lighting Design. The Outer Critics Circle - the official organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications, and other media beyond Broadway - has given awards since 1950.
