George Street Playhouse announced today that due to an unforeseen illness, award-winning vocalist MAUREEN McGOVERN has been placed under a doctor's care and will not be appearing at the New Brunswick theatre on Wednesday, September 16, as previously announced. The performance will not be rescheduled.

Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro's critically acclaimed new comedy Clever Little Lies begins previews on Friday, September 18th for a strictly limited 16-week engagement. Opening night, originally announced for Wednesday, October 14th, is now set for Monday, October 12th at the Westside Theatre (Upstairs) (407 West 43rd Street). As previously announced, Clever Little Lies stars Emmy, Grammy, and Golden Globe Award-winner Marlo Thomas, Greg Mullavey, George Merrick and Kate Wetherhead, with direction by David Saint.

Producers Joan Raffe, Jhett Tolentino, and Douglas Denoff announced today that George Merrick will complete the cast of two time Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro's critically acclaimed new comedy Clever Little Lies. Previews begin Friday, September 18th for a strictly limited 16-week engagement. George Street Playhouse and Artistic Director David Saint have announced that a new musical, Ernest Shackleton Loves Me, will close their current season, bowing tonight, April 22 and running through May 17, 2015.

The two-time Tony Award winning hilarious hit comedy 39 Steps just opened last night, April 13th at the Union Square Theatre (100 East 17th Street). The cast of 39 Steps features original Broadway cast member Arnie Burton as Clown #2, as well as Billy Carter as Clown #1, Broadway vet Robert Petkoff as the dashing hero Richard Hannay, and Brittany Vicars as Pamela/Annabella/Margaret in her New York City stage debut. 'Buyer and Cellar' is now on stage at George Street Playhouse through March 29th. Written by Jonathan Tolins and directed by David Saint, this fantastic one-man show stars the ever-talented John Tartaglia.

George Street Playhouse and Artistic Director David Saint welcome New Jersey native John Tartaglia, from the original Broadway cast of Avenue Q, as well as TV's Sesame Street and the Emmy Award - nominated Johnny and the Sprites to New Brunswick as the sole cast member of Buyer & Cellar, the fourth production of the New Brunswick theatre's current season. Mr. Tartaglia will take the fictional journey to the fictional version of Barbra Streisand's fictional basement through March 29. Opening night is set for tonight, March 6. Mr. Saint helms the production.
