Tickets Now Available for Lincoln Center's MIDSUMMER NIGHT SWING

Tickets go on sale today for Lincoln Center's 24th season of Midsummer Night Swing taking place Tuesdays through Saturdays, June 26-July 14. Swing's 15 dazzling nights of dancing, and one free daytime lesson for children, take place at the bandshell and elevated dance floor in Damrosch Park, on West 62nd Street between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues. Midsummer Night Swing offers an array of dance music styles including salsa, swing, tango, rock 'n' roll, and bhangra. Because of the national holiday there will be no Swing on July 4th, so a special Monday night will be added on July 2nd.

TITANIC TALES: STORIES OF COURAGE AND COWARDICE, a theater work commissioned by Lincoln Center, will have its world premiere on Thursday, April 12 at 8:30 p.m. the date on which, 100 years ago, the RMS Titanic was mid-voyage on the way to its fateful encounter with the iceberg that led to the ship's tragic loss on the night of April 15, 1912.

Just added to the April schedule of FREE events at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center is the return of the acclaimed Unsound Festival New York on April 19 with "Interzone." The Target® Free Thursdays concert, at a special time, 7:30 p.m., features two exciting duo projects that explore the edges of sound, melding psychedelic, rock, dub, and other influences in engaging new ways: Polish duo LXMP, (pictured, right) making their U.S. debut, and American duo Peaking Lights. And in honor of Tartan Day, Meet the Artist Saturdays' April 7 program, Heartbeat of the Highlands will feature the dazzling Scottish dancers of Shot of Scotch (pictured, left) in a one-hour family program.

Two exciting theater pieces come to Lincoln Center as part of Target Free Thursdays at the David Rubenstein Atrium this March and April: first on March 29, Asking For It, a moving and funny one-woman show by Joanna Rush to mark Women's History Month; then on April 12, Titanic Tales, a music-theater work recalling the tragic voyage in survivors own words, set to music of the period. Both performances take place at 8:30 p.m.

New-York Historical Society Displays Handwitten Copy of 13th Amendment Through 4/1

As Black History Month begins and Abraham Lincoln's birthday approaches, the New-York Historical Society is pleased to add to its displays a rare handwritten copy of the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution-the measure that abolished slavery-signed by Lincoln himself. The document, which was recently acquired by David Rubenstein, managing director of The Carlyle Group, will be on view at New-York Historical in the new Robert H. and Clarice Smith New York Gallery of American History.
