Kinky Boots, the new smash hit Broadway musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Music & Lyrics), will be taking over the airwaves on Sirius XM this Memorial Day Weekend, offering a preview of the show's Original Broadway Cast Recording (Masterworks Broadway), one of the most anticipated Broadway CDs in years.

With big hair and fun aplenty, you will not find a show with so much energy and attack as this one. With wide appeal across the board due to the 2007 film starring John Travolta as the loveable Edna Turnblad, Hairspray has something for everyone. It is great to see a younger audience drawn to the theatre; very few shows these days have such power. Hairspray is topical, has good morals, catchy music by Marc Shaiman and brilliantly choreographed dance routines by Jerry Mitchell - the show has everything!

Two-time Academy Award winner and 2013 Tony nominee Tom Hanks may be taking Nora Ephron's LUCKY GUY to London, The Daily Mail reports today. The actor is in talks for a West End opening in 2014, though it's reportedly far from a done deal.

The award was presented at a gala event at B.B. King on May 13 with four-time Tony Award-winning playwright and actor Harvey Fierstein, a frequent collaborator of Jerry Mitchell (and bookwriter of Kinky Boots), to emcee a tribute written by six-time Emmy Award winner Bruce Vilanch. Grammy Award-winner Cyndi Lauper, who wrote the music & lyrics for Kinky Boots, introduced a number from Kinky Boots included in the tribute.
