2012 Innovative Theater Award Nominees Announced

On Monday, July 23, 2012, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2012 nominees at its annual sold-out event at the Carmine Street Recreation Center located at 25 Carmine Street.

Stamford Center for the Arts Announces Summer 2012 Arts Education Programs

Arts Education returns to the Stamford Center for the Arts for the third straight year with a focus on music, dance, acting, musical theater and puppetry. With the generous support of presenting sponsors RFR Stamford and Purdue Pharma, SCA will present four unique experiences for the area's youth: SummerJazz, (generously supported by Pitney Bowes, Purdue Pharma, RFR Stamford and the Italian Center;) the Triple Threat Performer Intensive; Lumina String Quartet's Chamber Music Institute for Young Musicians and Jim West's "Dinosaurs."

Robert Paterson’s Song Cycle Performed By American Modern Ensemble 3/1

Pearl Theatre Company Finds Home on 42nd Street

Continuing its reinvigoration, The Pearl Theatre Company has signed a 20-year lease on 555 West 42nd Street, the venue recently vacated by Signature Theatre Company, J.R. Sullivan, The Pearl's Artistic Director, announced today. The Pearl will inaugurate its permanent home with its 29th season, beginning this fall. Denham Wolf, a firm specializing in providing real estate services to cultural and other nonprofit organizations, served as The Pearl's broker and consultant in this transaction.

New York Philharmonic to Stage CAROUSEL in 2013; PBS to Televise Concert

The New York Phiharmonic has just announced the 2012-13 season, which is set to include a staged production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Broadway hit Carousel, February 27-March 2, 2013, directed by James Brennan and conducted by Rob Fisher - the same team behind the Philharmonic's acclaimed 2007 production of My Fair Lady. Mr. Brennan, who is also an actor and choreographer, has directed performances on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theater. Mr. Fisher is the founding director of New York City Center's Encores! series, and has been a part of numerous productions and projects.
