The Gift Theatre's artistic director Michael Patrick Thornton announces the world premiere of psychological drama Good For Otto by Tony Award-winning playwright David Rabe.

Ten playwrights have won the New York Community Trust Helen Merrill Playwright Awards, honoring established and emerging writers for the theater. The winners are currently producing work on topics ranging from basement dwelling families in the middle of the 21st century to the 19th century all-black community that faced destruction in order to create Central Park.

From the producers of NIRBHAYA, The Exonerated, Guantanamo and Sarah Jones' Bridge & Tunnel, Culture Project along with Rosie O'Donnell will present the world premiere of MotherStruck written and performed by Staceyann Chin and directed by Cynthia Nixon, beginning Thursday, September 24th, 2015 at Culture Project's Lynn Redgrave Theater.   Opening Night is set for Wednesday, October 7th.

To kick off the series, we are talking to an internationally recognized stage and screen star CELEBRATED for her iconic originating role in the popular stage musical and subsequent feature film adaptation of Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, the fiercely idiosyncratic Ellen Greene. Opening up about her experiences in landing that unforgettable part, Greene also previews what audiences can expect from her return to the stage as art of the hotly anticipated Encores! Off-Center mounting of the musical co-starring Jake Gyllenhaal at City Center later this week. Additionally, Greene reflects on some of her other standout appearances over the years, such as the acclaimed 1976 New York Shakespeare Festival production of THE THREEPENNY OPERA and David Rabe's IN THE BOOM BOOM ROOM at the Public Theater, not to mention the legendary cult musical RACHAEL LILY ROSENBLOOM (AND DON'T YOU EVER FORGET IT), plus her notable ongoing collaboration with TV mastermind Bryan Fuller on HEROES, PUSHING DAISIES and HANNIBAL and much more.

The New Group presents the world premiere production of The Spoils, a new play written by and featuring Jesse Eisenberg, directed by Scott Elliott. This production will feature Erin Darke, Annapurna Sriram and Michael Zegen, and as previously announced, Jesse Eisenberg and Kunal Nayyar. The show opens tonight, June 2, for a limited Off-Broadway engagement slated through June 28 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street).

The New Group has announced three productions for its 2015-2016 Season.  The company's new season kicks off in Summer 2015 with the Off-Broadway premiere of Philip Ridley's Mercury Fur, directed by Scott Elliott.  The season continues in Fall 2015 with the world premiere of Mark Gerrard's Steve, with director Cynthia Nixon returning to The New Group, where she made her directorial debut earlier this year.  In Winter 2016, Scott Elliott directs Sam Shepard's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Buried Child, featuring Ed Harris and Amy Madigan, who return to The New Group with this production.

The Nora Theatre Company will present Saving Kitty by Marisa Smith, featuring film and television star Jennifer Coolidge, and is directed by Artistic Director Lee Mikeska Gardner. Saving Kitty runs from July 9 through August 2, 2015. The press performance is Monday, July 13 at 7:30PM.
