Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the Broadway cast of The Winslow Boy, starring Tony nominee Michael Cumpsty as 'Desmond Curry', Academy & Tony Award nominee Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio as 'Grace Winslow', Alessandro Nivola as 'Sir Robert Morton' and Tony Award winner Roger Rees as 'Arthur Winslow'.
At a time when the political machines really are taking over, along comes the new future-shock musical, The Freedom Machine, with Story and Book by Larry Carpenter, and Music and Lyrics by Shane Alexander. Act One of The Freedom Machine will have four stage readings in Los Angeles, August 9-13.
SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE - THE MUSICAL had its world premiere this June at the The Pasadena Playhouse, and according to the LA Times, the show could have a future life over seas. Sheldon Epps, artistic director if the Pasadene Playhouse told LAT of a London transfer: 'I'm feeling optimistic that it's going to happen. It could happen in the spring or fall of next year.'
Profiles in History, run by Joe Maddalena, is proud to announce that a collection of iconic cultural memorabilia will be up for sale at their Hollywood Auction, July 28th and July 29th in Los Angeles. Also of important note, Profiles in History's Milton Greene Collection auction is this Saturday, July 27th. It will have over 75,000 photographs and negatives, of those, 4,000 are Marilyn Monroe, all going with copyright. Ya se sabe -por desgracia- que casi nadie habla de lo que no es negocio, aunque los periodicos intenten disimularlo. Asi que yo, humildemente, y sin ninguna intencion de sentar catedra ni crear evangelio, voy a compartir contigo temas de los que todos hablamos y reflexionamos pero sobre los que pocas veces se escribe. He decidido el titulo de The Safety Curtain porque me parece uno de los elementos mas simbolicos de una representacion teatral: entre otras cosas, protege al publico durante los cambios de escena. Se trata de una barrera util, entre la obra y el publico, y asi es BroadwayWorld Spain… un intermediario entre el mundo del espectaculo y su publico al que protege, cuida y mima. It was announced today that Hollywood Fringe Festival hit Me Love Me will play the 2013 New York International Fringe Festival for 5 performances only. Me Love Me, written by Brandon Baruch and directed by Second City Associate Artistic Director Marc Warzecha, will play The Players Theater (115 MacDougal Street, NYC) August 10 - 17, 2013.
