Jenny Powers, Will Swenson & More Join Encores! IT'S A BIRD... IT'S A PLANE... IT'S SUPERMAN

Superman finds his Lois Lane! Joining Edward Watts (Superman) in the New York City Center Encores! production of It's a Bird…It's a Plane…It's Superman will be Jenny Powers as Lois Lane and David Pittu as the evil Dr. Sedgwick, along with Erich Bergen, Alli Mauzey, James Saito and Will Swenson. Superman will play at City Center for seven performances, March 20 - 24, and will be directed by John Rando with choreography by Joshua Bergasse and music direction by Rob Berman.

Yaroslavsky serves as narrator in Aaron Copland's A LINCOLN PORTRAIT, in an evening led by conductor Bramwell Tovey. The program also features Bowl favorite, violinist Sarah Chang, a longtime Bowl favorite, performing a suite from Bernstein's WEST SIDE STORY for violin and orchestra by David Newman. Gershwin's CUBAN OVERTURE and Copland's BILLY THE KID SUITE complete the program.

The Hampstead Theatre has announced the world premiere of CHARIOTS OF FIRE. Award-winning playwright Mike Bartlett brings the Olympic story to the stage for the first time in a new adaptation inspired by Colin Welland's original screenplay. Directed by Hampstead Theatre's Artistic Director Edward Hall, CHARIOTS OF FIRE will be performed on a spectacular set by award-winning designer Miriam Buether, which transforms Hampstead Theatre into a stadium, making an immersive experience that evokes the 1924 Paris games. The production will also feature the legendary music of the Vangelis score with additional live music and arrangements by Tony Award-winning composer Jason Carr.

Musical Director Alex Navarro leads a band, including musicians Greg Burrows, David Finch, Jordan Jancz, and Deepak Ramapriyan with singers Sherez Aletaha and Saum Eskandani.
