freeFall Theatre to Stage FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, 9/21-11/3

50 SHADES! THE MUSICAL Cast Album Gets 8/13 Release

"50 SHADES! THE MUSICAL," the critically-hailed parody of the phenomenally popular books, will release an Original Cast Album Tuesday, Aug. 13. The album is being released by Theater Advisor Records, a division of Theater Advisor LLC. The album is now available through pre-sale on iTunes and can be added to a wishlist on Amazon.com.

David Mann to Star in freeFall Theatre's FIDDLER ON THE ROOF; Full Cast Announced!

This fall, freeFall opens its new season with a classic story about family, love and tradition. An audience favorite nearly 50 years after its stage debut, very few musicals have so magically woven music, dance, poignancy and laughter into such an unforgettable experience. 'Fiddler on the Roof' opens September 21. Performances will continue through November 3.

NAKED BOYS SINGING, MARRY ME A LITTE & More Set for Pandora Productions' 2013-14 Season

Pandora Productions kicks off its 2013-14 season in just nine days with Naked Boys Singing!, the needs-no-explanation (but we will: audiences are gonna LOVE IT) musical originally slated for Pandora's '12-'13 season but postponed due to casting issues. Kacee Clanton, the Los Angeles-based rock and blues singer-songwriter who previously played Janis Joplin in Love, Janis and has toured as lead vocalist with Big Brother & The Holding Company, will star in ONE NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN at ZACH, opening July 10.

Park Square Theatre to Present New Play SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE ADVENTURES OF THE SUICIDE CLUB, 6/7-7/14

The beguiling thriller SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE SUICIDE CLUB, a new script by Jeffrey Hatcher, takes the Park Square stage next Friday for a week of previews before opening on June 14. A fast-paced mash-up of the unforgettable characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyleand The Suicide Club by Robert Louis Stevenson, this script has its roots in Park Square's last wildly popular homage to the great sleuth, Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily (2010). "David Ira Goldstein (Artistic Director of the Arizona Theatre Company, former Artistic Director of Actor's Theatre of Saint Paul) and Jeff Hatcher were in the audience at that show," explains Park Square Artistic Director Richard Cook. "Jeff boasted he could write an even better Sherlock and David Ira said 'then I'll commission it.'" David Mann directs and Steve Hendrickson returns once again as the absurdly smart Holmes, this time in a thriller with multiple murders in which Holmes is either target or suspect. Three performances have been added to meet the demand for tickets.

CMSD Students Present AIDA as 14th Annual All-City Musical

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) will present itsfourteenth annual All-City Musical, AIDA to crown the District's 2012-13 series of All-City Arts Programming. The production features the talents of over fifty CMSD students from across the District and will take place on the stage of the Ohio Theatre at PlayhouseSquare,May 31 - June 2, 2013. Tony Sias, Director of Arts Education for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, co-directs the production with Kimberly Brown. Aida, which features music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice, is based on the book by Linda Woolverton, Robert Falls and David Henry Hwang. It was originally directed on Broadway by Robert Falls and originally produced by Disney Theatrical Productions. The CMSD All-City Musical production is produced through special arrangement with Music Theater International (www.mtishows.com).

Photo Coverage: Friars Club Hosts Steve Tyrell

If the walls of the Friars Club could tell their stories the history of show business would come to life. Luckily this history is accurately retold and chronicled by each generation of Friars. Friar Historian Bruce Charet, a member of the Board of Governors and Friar Mark Simone Admissions Committee Chairman started the evening off by telling the overflow audience in the Milton Berle Room that "Tonight the Friars is the Copa"!
