CSC Honors Rosemarie Tichler 5/17; Tribute Features Nichols, Bobbie, Lapine, et al.

Classic Stage Company (CSC), under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Jessica R. Jenen, will honor their board member Rosemarie Tichler, the highly-respected producer, casting director, teacher and author, at this year's annual benefit gala Monday evening, May 17 at Twenty Four Fifth. The Honorary Chair for the evening is Mike Nichols and Honorary Co-Chairs are Olympia Dukakis, Dianne Wiest, Walter Bobbie and James Lapine. Honorary Artists include F. Murray Abraham, Christopher Durang, Michael Greif, John Guare, Bill Irwin, S. Epatha Merkerson, Mandy Patinkin, Wallace Shawn and Michael Stuhlbarg.

Ruthie Henshall has extended for five additional weeks as Roxie Hart. She'll now play through Sunday, July 18 -- instead of June 13 as originally announced. Also, Terra C. MacLeod returns as Velma Kelly starting tonight May 10th.

Since then, CoHo Productions has used its unique co-production model to champion 6 additional world premieres, several Portland or northwest premieres, and sustained the highest quality of performance on stage and behind the scenes in earning 16 Drammy awards for its co-productions. Our 2010-2011 season continues that tradition of blending high quality production, new works and top local talent.

Jenen, will present two-time Academy Award-winner Dianne Wiest in THE FOREST, by Alexander Ostrovosky, translated by Kathleen Tolan, and directed by Brian Kulick, beginning performances Friday, April 23 at CSC with an official press opening Thursday, May 6 at 7pm. THE FOREST will also star Obie Award-winning actor John Douglas Thompson, who earned great acclaim last year for his title role performance in Othello at Theatre for a New Audience. THE FOREST will play a limited engagement through Sunday May 30 only.
