Vineyard's THE LANDING to Conclude Run with VIP Benefit, 11/24

The Vineyard Theatre world-premiere production of the musical THE LANDING - with book and lyrics by Greg Pierce, music by John Kander and directed by Walter Bobbie - will conclude its acclaimed run with a special VIP benefit reception for patrons following the final performance on Sunday, November 24 at 3 p.m. at The Vineyard. (108 E. 15 St.) A $200 VIP ticket includes premium seating for the show as well as a champagne toast with the musical's cast and creative team onstage after the performance. BWW Reviews: VENUS IN FUR, Seduction Without Sex at Cleveland Play House

A psychiatrist, who is credited with naming the act of sadomasochism, stated, 'I feel justified in calling this sexual anomaly 'Masochism,' because the author Sacher-Masoch frequently made this perversion, which up to his time was quite unknown to the scientific world as such, the substratum of his writing.' Yes, this is the same Leopold Sacher-Masoch who is the author of VENUS IN FURS, which is the subject of David Ives VENUS IN FUR, now in production at the Cleveland Play House.

Cleveland Play House Extends VENUS IN FUR Through 11/30

Cleveland Play House's (CPH) smart and sexy comedy Venus in Fur, currently running in the Second Stage at PlayhouseSquare, has extended its run for three additional performances due to high audience demand. The production, which was previously scheduled to close on Nov. 24th, will now have additional performances on Friday, Nov. 29th at 7:30 p.m. and two performances on Saturday, Nov. 30th at 4:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. respectively. This Tony-nominated play by celebrated playwright David Ives is directed by CPH's newly appointed artistic director, Laura Kepley. Irving Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS Opens 11/26 at Marcus Center for the Performing Arts

OTHELLO, TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA and THE LIAR Set for Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival's 2014 Season

The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (HVSF) announces the three plays that will run in repertory during the Company's 28th season: Othello, directed by Associate Artistic Director Christopher V. Edwards, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, directed by HVSF newcomer Eric Tucker, and David Ives' hilarious adaptation of Pierre Corneille's comedy, The Liar, directed by HVSF veteran Russell Treyz.

Christopher Durang & Stephen Sultan to be Honored at Primary Stages' Annual Gala, 11/11

Primary Stages has announced that their annual Gala will take place Monday, November 11, 2013 at The Edison Ballroom (240 W. 47th Street). The event will honor Tony Award-winning playwright Christopher Durang and President of the General Counsel at Dramatists Play Service, Stephen Sultan. The Gala Chairs are Catherine Adler and HBO. The Tony nominated star of Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Kristine Nielsen, will offer a tribute to Mr. Durang. Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright John Patrick Shanley will offer a tribute to Mr. Sultan. The evening will feature performances by Rachel DeBenedet (Catch Me If You Can, Addams Family), Alan Paul (Grease, Oliver!, Manhattan Transfer), Michele Ragusa (Urinetown, Ragtime, A Class Act, Adrift in Macao), and Alton F. White (The Color Purple, The Lion King, Ragtime).

GOOD PEOPLE, 'SUNDAY IN THE PARK', Michael Shannon, Andre De Shields and More Top 2013 Jeff Awards; Winners Announced!

At the gala 45th Annual Equity Jeff Awards held at Drury Lane Oakbrook on Monday, November 4, Steppenwolf Theatre Company's 'Good People' received the award for Production-Play in a large tier theatre. Principal Actress Mariann Mayberry was also honored for her role in this David Lindsey-Abaire play, which considers the dangerous consequences of holding on to the past or leaving it behind. William Brown received Best Director of a play for Writers Theatre's production of the French farce 'The Liar', adapted by David Ives.

New Theatre Company The Phoenix Presents BLUE/ORANGE, Now thru 11/23

Mad Cow Adds Extra Performance to VENUS IN FUR

Mad Cow Theatre has announced an extra performance has been added to it's current hit David Ives' Venus in Fur now playing in the Black Box through November 17th. The extra performance has been added on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 8:00pm. The local response to Venus in Fur has been overwhelming from critics and patrons alike.
