C4: The Choral Composer/Conductor Collective will present Vocal - C4 Honors Its Foundations: Music for Voices Alone, the first concerts of its Cornerstones 2015-16 New York season on Thursday, November 19 at 8:00 PM at Church of the Transfiguration, 1 East 29th Street (between 5th and Madison Avenues) in Manhattan and Saturday, November 21 at 8:00 PM at The Church of St. Luke in the Fields, 487 Hudson Street (south of Christopher Street), also in Manhattan.

Imagitale Studios hopes kids will love science through characters introduced in the new children's e-book Gravy and the Boattrain by David Hurd. The e-book tells the story of Gravy Boone, a teenage inventor living in Sawville, Indiana and he is crazy about science. His rural lab named the Barnatory is a haven for his scientific creations. With the help of his best friend Nathan, they build the Boattrain, Gravy's most awesome creation yet. The Boattrain is an all-terrain vehicle that takes Gravy on a wild adventure as he prepares to display it at the Marion County Science Fair. The Boattrain is sure to take top prize at the fair and turn Gravy into a scientific rock star. The only thing standing in his way is nemesis Melvin Snurley who taunts him mercilessly in the weeks leading up to the fair. The rivalry tests Gravy's intellect, creativity, and most importantly, his friendship with Nathan. Gravy must overcome his insecurities and frustrations if he plans to win top prize at the science fair and triumph over Melvin. It is an exciting adventure written across eighty-five illustrated pages that will make kids go wild for science.

This weekend, New Yorkers brought their Christmas trees to over 80 locations across the city for the 18th annual MulchFest. NYC Parks, partnering with the Department of Sanitation, GreeNYC, and numerous community organizations, provides New Yorkers with the opportunity to mulch their Christmas trees into wood chips that will be used to nourish parks and gardens throughout the city. Participants were also invited to take a free bag of mulch home. This year's MulchFest recycled a record-breaking 30,109 trees. Scroll down for photos!

This June marked the eighth anniversary of National Caribbean American Heritage Month, a time for America to remember that Caribbean immigrants helped shape the United States. One of these immigrants, David Hurd, recorded his experiences through multiple handwritten letters to his long-distance pen pal love. These letters have been collected by his granddaughter, Judith C. Lovell, in the new book, Papa's Letters: Love via First Class Male.

'Tis the season of buying new and replacing old electronics, and to commemorate its one year anniversary, the Broadway Green Alliance hosted an industry-wide electronic waste (e-waste) collection for actors, stage crew, producers, general managers and theaters from across the Great White Way, sponsored by WeRecycle! on Wednesday, December 16.
