Aaron Sorkin Writing Book for New Broadway Musical?

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, earlier this year, Aaron Sorkin withdrew as librettist of the upcoming Broadway production Houdini, starring Hugh Jackman. Now in a recent interview with Vanity Fair, he revealed that he's deveoping another musical for Broadway. When jokingly asked if he'd ever write dance sequences into his television scripts, Sorkin resopnded: ' Well, I'm going to be doing a Broadway musical, and there will be plenty of extended dance sequences.'

National Geographic Channel (@NatGeoChannel) today announced that up-and-coming actor Will Rothhaar (@Poetiqrothhaar) has been cast as the volatile former Marine and assassin Lee Harvey Oswald in the upcoming two-hour original factual drama Killing Kennedy by Scott Free Productions. Rothhaar is the final of the four major players in the film to be announced, joining Rob Lowe (John F. Kennedy), Ginnifer Goodwin (Jacqueline Kennedy) and Michelle Trachtenberg (Marina Oswald).

Kevin Spacey will shortly return to the land of corruption - also known as Washington DC. HOUSE OF CARDS star Constance Zimmer let it be known today on Twitter that shooting on Season 2 of the runaway-hit streamer will begin later this month. Deadline caught the tweet, and was the first to report.

Syfy is joining creative forces with FOX Television Studios, Academy Award©-winning director/producer Robert Zemeckis, producers Jack Rapke and Jackie Levine, and feature film writing team John Brancato and Michael Ferris (Terminator Salvation, The Game) to develop the series project No Place, it was announced today by Mark Stern, President of Original Content, Syfy and Co-Head Original Content, Universal Cable Productions. Zemeckis and Rapke are executive producers along with Brancato and Ferris who will write the pilot.

Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz,and Rafe Spall will star on Broadway in Harold Pinter's BETRAYAL, directed by ten-time Tony Award-winner Mike Nichols. BETRAYAL will begin performances on Tuesday, October 1 at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). Opening night is Sunday, November 3. BETRAYAL is a strictly limited engagement, running 14 weeks only, through January 5, 2014.

Don't want to fork out the basic Netflix package of $7.99 a month to check out HOUSE OF CARDS? Amazon is currently taking preorders for the series' DVD release - apparently set for June 11. Sony Entertainment, as Deadline reports, hasn't made the official announcement that the Kevin Spacey-led series would even get a DVD release, but according to Amazon, it obviously is. The online marketplace is now offering the first (and potentially only) season of CARDS for a special pre-order price of $44.99.

The Flea has announced that Thirteen WNET will be filming the critically acclaimed production of THE VANDAL on March 29. A broadcast date has not been slated. Written by actor Hamish Linklater (School for Lies, Twelfth Night, Recent Tragic Events & The Busy World is Hushed, and TV's The New Adventures of Old Christine), The Vandal runs through March 31.
