Comedy Central builds on its success of last year's Up Nextshowcase at Clusterfest, featuring the network's rising stars, by including another stand-up showcase and adding a variety showcase. The weekend will highlight over 20 comedians with two separate and distinct stand-up showcases taking place on Friday, June 1, hosted by Chris Redd with special guest Tim Dillon and Saturday, June 2, hosted by Jullian McCollough with special guest Mark Normand; and a brand new variety showcase taking place on Sunday, June 3, hosted by Matthew Broussard. All shows will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in the 415 Comedy Club room.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix nabbed worldwide rights excluding China to the animated film Next Gen in a deal in the $30 million range. It also marks Netflix's first deal at Cannes after losing out to Focus Features for the opening night film Everybody Knows.
According to Deadline, Jeffrey Tambor is set to appear on the upcoming fifth season of the comedy hit ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT when it returns on Netflix. Tambor recently exited the Amazon original series TRANSPARENT amid sexual harassment claims. The allegations have come from two members of the shows family. According to the show's official Twitter account, the hit series ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT is set for return very, very soon. The shows creator, Mitch Hurwitz, says in the posted letter: 'A new fifth season of Arrested Development will be coming back to Netflix soon. Like real soon.
