Yank!, which played the York Theatre off Broadway in the 2009-2010 season and which has an eye for Broadway will be given a workshop this fall in NYC, backed by the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. The workshop will run from October 24 through November 17, 2011.

According to the Chicago Tribune, David Cromer is currently in talks to dierct the American Theater Company production of RENT, which runs May-July 2012. Artistic director PJ Paparelli to the Tribune: 'It depends on David's schedule. We won't know for a couple of weeks.'

Actress Emily Bergl opens the fall season of the Oak Room at the historic Algonquin Hotel with her cabaret, 'Kidding on the Square.' She will be accompanied by Jonathan Mastro, composer and musical director of the hit revival of 'Our Town,' directed by David Cromer. Ms. Bergl starred as Beth Young on ABC's 'Desperate Housewives,' and currently plays Tammi Bryant on TNT's 'Southland.' She most recently appeared on the New York stage in Nora Ephron's 'Love, Loss and What I Wore,' and in Second Stage's 'Becky Shaw,' and has starred in several Broadway productions. The NY Times reports that James Franco will not be participating in the upcoming revival of Tennessee Williams' Sweet Bird of Youth alongside Nicole Kidman, as had previously been set. While no dates had been announced for the production, Kidman had been attached to the production officially as 'Alexandra', while the last reports indicate that Franco had all but signed on the dotted line for the role of 'Chance'. Back in January he told MTV that he planned to participate in the production, while later in the winter the revival's director David Cromer told the New York Times that he believed it was a done deal.
