Following on from Sunday in the Park with George, Little Shop of Horrors, La Cage aux Folles, A Little Night Music, Sweet Charity, Pippinand Merrily We Roll Along, the Menier Chocolate Factory is delighted to announce that its Christmas musical will be Candide with music by Leonard Bernstein, book adapted from Voltaire by Hugh Wheeler, lyrics by Richard Wilbur and additional lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, John Latouche, Lillian Hellman, Dorothy Park and Leonard Bernstein.

Philadelphia's treasured musical tradition Holiday POPS! returns to Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center for nine festive performances, December 6 through December 21, 2013 led by Britain's celebrated American-born conductor David Charles Abell, who is known for conducting the two "Les Miserables" anniversary celebrations, televised throughout the world. Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Pulitzer Prize-winning musical SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE is set to be unveiled at Theatre du Chatelet in Paris tonight in a glittery new production, starring theatre and film notable Julian Oveden and featuring a 60-piece orchestra, and it has now been confirmed that the production will be recorded for radio broadcast and streamed live coming up later this month.

Yale will pay tribute to alumnus composer and lyricist Cole Porter (B.A. 1913) on the centennial of his graduation from the University by presenting his popular musical 'Kiss Me, Kate' in a concert version with an all-Yale cast and crew. Porter's riff on Shakespeare's 'Taming of the Shrew' will have two performances today, Jan. 19, at University Theater, 222 York St., at 2 and 8 p.m.

West End LES MISERABLES Musicians to Re-Audition for Expanded Orchestra

According to The Stage, current musicians from West End's LES MISERABLES will have to re-audition to be a part of the newly expanded orchestra. As previously reported, Cameron Mackintosh will expand the orchestra from 11 to 14 for the production, which is currently playing the Queen's Theatre. The increase in orchestra members will allow the musicians to use the new arrangements for the show, as the West End production is currently the only one still using the outdated arrangements.

According to a report by The Stage,Cameron Mackintosh is planing to expand the orchestra from 11 to 14 for West End's Les Miserables. The production, which is currently playing the Queen's Theatre, will also get a new sound design. The increase in orchestra members will allow the musicians to use the new arrangements for the show, as the West End production is currently the only one still using the outdated arrangements.
