Yesterday, February 1, the entertainment community bid farewell to one of its most influential members, Academy Award-winning producer of stage and screen David Brown. He died at his Manhattan home of kidney failure at age 93.

The internationally acclaimed Elisa Monte Dance will present another exhilarating season of dance featuring the World premieres of 'Continuum,' 'By Your Side' and 'Pockettangle' as well as revival performances of 'Dreamtime' and 'Absolute Rule,' 'Shattered,' Treading,' & 'Hardwood' when the company bounds into New York City's The Ailey Citigroup Theatre (at the Joan Weill Center for Dance/405 West 55th Street at 9th Avenue) on Thursday, February 25th (8PM) with two programs of performances slated through March 7th.

The New York Times is reporting that Producer Ken Davenport (Oleanna, 13, Altar Boyz, Awesome 80s Prom) is behind a new stage revival of Aaron Sorkin's A Few Good Men. He, alongside director David Esbjornson (The Goat, Or Who Is Sylvia?) are in the process of seeking out a lead to star as Lt. Daniel Kaffee in the production in a 2010-2011 revival on Broadway. This production will be the first revival since 1991, when it played the Music Box Theatre. Tom Hulce originated the role on stage in 1989. Tom Cruise famously took the role to the silver screen in 1991.

DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS will play its final performance at Broadway's Imperial Theatre on Sunday, September 3, 2006 at 3:00 pm. The show began previews on Monday, January 31, 2005, and played 36 preview performances. It will have played 666 regular performances since its opening night Thursday, March 3, 2005.
