Raucous, raw and rock-inflected: you've never heard cabaret like this before.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) has announced the final two productions of its 2015/16 Season. The New York premiere of RED SPEEDO, written by Lucas Hnath (The Christians) and directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz (Hollow Roots), will begin performances in February.

Ever-intrepid guitarist, producer, improviser, film composer and soundscape artist David Torn will embark on his first solo tour of the US since the mid-nineties (see itinerary below).

MCL Chicago, the first theater in Chicago dedicated to innovative musical comedies, presents the company's third original production "ZIG: EDM Suicide," a serio-comedy rock musical about redemption and connection in a digital age. Written by up-and-coming playwright Michael Shepherd Jordan and directed by MCL Chicago's Executive Chair Alex Richmond at MCL Chicago (formerly Studio BE), 3110 N. Sheffield Ave.

The Sony Centre For The Performing Arts will present the return of SO BLUE, choreographed and performed by Louise Lecavalier, joined by Frederic Tavernini after a highly acclaimed and sold-out run at the Fleck Dance Theatre last summer. 

Exciting new line-up additions at Flow Festival include the first appearance by Grammy-winning composer, producer and famed guitarist Nile Rodgers together with the legendary CHIC in Finland.

MatthewK's self-titled 12 song debut album captures his world-class global pop appeal and will be released physically and digitally today, May 5th, 2015, and was recorded and mixed internationally in the USA, UK, and Australia. The album, a mix of Pop and Rock and even an International flavor, was recorded and produced by James M. DiLella at Rough and Tumble Studios and will be released on the Rough and Tumble Entertainment Label in Philadelphia, PA.

 New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) announced today that internationally acclaimed theatre designer and six-time Tony Award Winner Bob Crowley will be honored at the NYTW 2015 Spring Gala on Monday, May 11, 2015. The event, which will be held at the Edison Ballroom (240 W 47th St.) will be chaired by Disney Theatrical Production President Thomas Schumacher, Sherie Rene Scott, Jack O'Brien, and John Barrett.

Attending a multilingual performance at Cafe Sabarsky in The Neue Galerie (86th Street and Fifth Avenue) is like stepping back in time. The room speaks to an era of higher refinement, not stuffy, but encouraging pedigree and brio. Few artists epitomize this more than celebrated cabaret veteran singer/pianist Steve Ross, whose fascinating and emotionally translucent shows here never fail to enlighten and entertain.

This special exhibition will examine the history of men's heeled footwear from the early 17th century to the present. Drawn from the Bata Shoe Museum's singular collection—the most comprehensive of its kind in the world—Standing Tall reveals the history, variety, functions, meanings, and significance of heeled footwear in men's dress over the last four centuries. The exhibition will be on view through June 2016, and is a part of the Museum's 20thanniversary celebration.

While Broadway is heaven for theatergoers around the world, especially when the season reaches its fever pitch as it is right now, it can also be hell in the right hands. And, that's a good thing. As the exceedingly well-received new play HAND TO GOD which opened earlier this month proves, audiences adore a good scare - particularly when it is supported by a rich and dynamic dramatic basis upon which the horror-show can play out, which HAND TO GOD undoubtedly has in spades (and pitchforks). Needless to say, many of the most popular and successful musicals of all time have also dealt with demonic presences - even if in the case of Broadway's two biggest hits, they are misunderstood monsters. Indeed, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA remains the longest-running show in Broadway history, approaching its 20th year on the Great White Way, while Oz-themed witch-centric musical mega-hit WICKED remains one of the hottest tickets in town. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announces the 2015-2016 Pittsburgh Dance Council season. The Pittsburgh Dance Council, a division of Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, will explore concepts of age, gender, sexual identity, ethnicity, legacy and historical context during the upcoming season, which opens on Saturday, October 3, 2015.

Berklee College of Music president Roger H. Brown will present Julio Iglesias, Doug Morris, Harvey Mason, and Dee Dee Bridgewater with honorary doctor of music degrees at Berklee's commencement ceremony, Saturday, May 9, at the 7,000-seat Agganis Arena at Boston University. More than 900 Berklee graduates, their parents, and invited guests will be in attendance.
